List of Salemtowne Retirement Community's Reviews
I have lived in an apartment at Salemtowne since late 2016. I love it here. There is plenty going on to choose from. Every week day there are multiple exercise classes for any fitness level. And every day of the week the pool and exercise/fitness room are available.Every week there are multiple choices of activities including artistic, intellectual, spiritual, and social. And occasionally there are out-of-town and/or overnight trips. As for food, the dining at Salemtowne is terrific. The main dining room has a rotating menu that changes twice each year. There are always 1 or 2 soups, 2 salads, 2 entrees, 4 sides, and 1 or more deserts to choose from. Additionally, there is an always available menu which includes entrees, sandwiches, entree salads, and sides. Plus, sometime in February of 2020 our new Bistro will open! There is much talk about "aging in place". With all these things going for it, plus the different levels of living (Independent, Assisted Living, and Skilled Nursing), Salemtowne is the place I want to age in!
My wife unexpectedly needed inpatient rehab care after recent back surgery at Baptist Hospital. After learning that Salemtowne's rehab center was an option for her, we were carefully and efficiently guided through the process to get her there and it was the best case we could have imagined (or not imagined!) to get her on the road to recovery. She was a patient there for 10 days and everyone in the facility treated us like they would treat a member of their own families. The administrative and nursing staff members were top notch and the therapy team was better than we could have thought possible. The facilities are state-of-the-art, thoughtfully designed and made the time there as comfortable as possible. The quality of the food was excellent and the choices were plentiful. The best part? Our 8-year-old yellow lab, Penny, was able to spend a majority of time in the room with her. The therapeutic benefit of this alone made Salemtowne stand out to us and all who visited us there. Her time at Salemtowne has undoubtedly set her up for the best possible long term outcome post-surgery. We would recommend Salemtowne to anyone and are so lucky to have such a wonderful center right here in our hometown.
The rehab facility had the best staff that truly cared about the healing and comfort of the patients. Extremely clean, food was good with lots of options, and nurses and aides responded to calls promptly. Highly highly recommend.
I was there three years ago and knew that there was no better place to go for rehab. Overall had a great stay.
This is an excellent place to live. I love my cottage. I do not wish to be a Pollyanna. However, I find Salemtowne at the top of the list for CCRCs.
We were so excited to have my Father in Law here after a major accident to complete his rehab. We tried to explain to them in detail his needs and our concerns were dismissed. We left him there 1 night, he fell out of bed 4 times! They never even bothered to call us. When we arrived the next morning to check on him, that is when we were told and had to take him back to the hospital by ambulance. Then they called and wanted $350 per day to hold his room while he was at the hospital due to their negligence. We declined and decided to look for another place. If you are looking and Brookrdge is available, I highly recommend it!
This is indeed a very, very nice retirement community!! I have several friends who live here and they have expressed to me that they feel safe living at Salemtowne. They enjoy the activities, the food, the religious services, and the socialization among each other. In addition, they love the landscaping as well as the cleanliness of the facilities. There is a wonderful young lady, Constance, who works at Salemtowne, and the residents truly love and appreciate her. She is so attentive, compassionate, patient, courteous, and she certainly LOVES the residents. I am very glad that I had the opportunity to meet her, and this young lady is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!! Thank you, Constance, for everything you do to bring so many smiles and words of encouragement to my friends and the other residents at Salemtowne.
lack of staff accountability, lack of follow throughcalendars for residents are not followed
Been here for a Month, I love the residents it's as though they grab a part of your heart. The staff I enjoy working with. Our Chef John, Bill, JV and Matt are Awesome!Think by far the best Place I've been employed yet it doesn't feel like a Routine Job. I actually wake up ready to come in and start the day with a Smile hoping it lights Someone else's face up!
I have eaten in the dinning hall several times with my parents. The food is outstanding both in taste and preparation. The wait team is wonderful and very friendly. This faculty is state of the art and Winston-Salem is very fortunate to have a wonderful community like Salemtowne. There is nothing like this in Charlotte.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
