List of Novant Health's Reviews
I went to this bariatric clinic as a last ditch effort after hitting a plateau in my weight loss journey. When I finally got into the clinic I asked what the payment would be for a visit like this. Keep in mind they had my insurance information already. They told me they couldn’t determine that. Turns out it’s $358.00. Not to mention my insurance covered nothing because of the way they coded my bill. Not only that. But all they did was weigh me. Take my height. Measure me and then the doctor came in and asked me the same medical history I had already provided in all the paper. Then handed me pamphlets and printouts from the internet about information I already knew… I had made it clear when making my appointment I had wanted to be put on a medication to help because I had tried every diet and I had already been in the gym consistently for 8 months 5xweek. The doctor told me he would NOT start me on medicine because I needed to try a low carb diet first something I had already been doing for MONTHS. I was also told a physician referral for a PCP was sent even though I did not ask or want one and I was honestly ridiculed based solely on my BMI and nothing else. After my appointment and receiving the bill I IMMEDIATELY canceled the multiple other appointments they prescheduled me for and found an amazing weight loss clinic. This clinic does not use insurance and the cost I’ve had for 3 visits hasn’t even come close to my “consultation” visit here. I also was immediately put on medication and had a full body composition done where I found out just how much of my body was actually “unhealthy” and how much was muscle based. All in all if you are looking for a clinic that actually cares about your health and not your money. This is not the place you should go Bariatric surgery is the only thing they will push on you even if that is clearly not something you need or want I will never again even think about going to this facility or any other Novant facility specialty clinic.
Not recommended period unless you are seeking surgery. You will be provided a nutrition plan that you could have printed for free off the internet. Myself having met ALL the criteria being eligible for an oral weight loss med in which I was REFERRED by a medical doctor was denied by a provider there who HAD the surgery themselves ....nothing more than a glorified dietician. Don’t waste your money here.
When Dr. Brown left they put a NP Peter Snow in charge of the entire practice. He is in over his head. The last two times Ive been into the office he had messed up refills of my previous prescription and then told me that a new drug was covered in my insurance coverage which it was not and took over a week with no communication to find out that it was denied. The front office staff and nurses are great but I cannot recommend this practice based on either the misinformation or baldfaced lies by NP Snow.I would rather put the 50 lbs. I lost back on and die of a heart attack than have a stroke at 45 and be a vegetable due to the stress caused by the BS Ive dealt with the past week than deal with the ineptitude that has become of this practice. Peter Snow is in over his head and cannot complete the simple task of reading the computer screen and proceeding accordingly.
Everyone is so friendly. They give so much information I feel like they work hard to make certain that you know what youre getting into.
Everyone is so friendly and welcoming with open arms.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
