Dr. Thom is a doctor’s doctor, along with his professional staff at Eye Consultants of North Dakota and The Center for Special Surgery of Fargo. He spent ample time carefully walking me through a detailed and nuanced understanding of the risks, benefits and alternatives to the procedure itself - intraocular implant options for my cataracts. The surgical and post-op outcomes in both eyes met (and even exceeded) my expectations. From the first visit to the last post-op visit, his staff were kind, warm, helpful and patient-focused. Dr. Thom doesn't seem to be very knowledgable, see Dr. Strinden instead. He advertised that he was does comprehensive ophthalmology, but when I asked him questions about my glaucoma he said I'd have to drive to Minneapolis to see a specialist, just to get answers! After being so upset by my appointment with Dr. Thom I went to see Dr. Strinden and he was able to help me and since switching to Dr. Strinden my glaucoma has significantly improved.
