David A Benavides's Online Review Report Card

Went to find out why back still hurts from previous surgery, 2nd opinion. He use xrays from 2 yrs from post op. He never listened to what my symptoms I explained. He told me, 'perfect exam, nothing is wrong.' I asked for new xrays and mir, however he denied ordering. What upset me the most were the staff telling me they couldn't pull my records, etc. from KRMC as they were separate from it even though their office was in the same building. How did he pull up my xrays? WASTE OF MY TIME!

I had neck surgery back in 2012. Dr. Benavides has a horrible bedside manner, treating me rudely and wanted to send me back to a labor intensive job two weeks after surgery. My primary care physician extended my time off and said Dr. Benavides was nuts for trying to send me back that soon. I also believe that during surgery he cut nerves and I've had issues ever since.

Dr Benavides is amazing. I've had 2 different neck surgeries. As long as I followed his instructions I had no issues. I had triple laminectomy and fusion a year ago. He is very direct and to the point. He is caring and wants the best for his patients. I would and have recommended him.

He is honest and forthright! answered all of my questions and focused on what was going to give me the best possible result

It’s been about 13 weeks since I had my Anterior Cervical Diskectomy Fusion done by my AMAZING orthopaedic spine surgeon Dr. David Benavides with Central Nebraska Spinal Surgery Center.I can’t say enough about the excellent care I received from Dr. Benavides & the staff starting with my diagnosis to my surgery to my ongoing recovery. They’ve gone above and beyond in giving me all of the support and tools I needed to get back to what I love to do —marathon running. Sometimes an athelete is only as good as the team that keeps her running and makes sure she’s at the top of her game! I’m so grateful that my team includes Dr. Benavides & his staff. Their high caliber of skill, care and support will allow me to safely finish the NYC United Half Marathon this week along with future races like the virtual Boston 5K, the Lincoln Half Marathon, the virtual London Marathon & the NYC Marathon! And as a BONUS I was also able to run ONE HUNDRED MILES in 45 days after Dr. Benavides cleared me to start training back in January!!! SO much to celebrate and so GRATEFUL that my running shoes are still hitting the pavement!!

I don't normally leave reviews, but this time it's necessary. Dr. Benevides did a laminectomy on my neck and the results were good. But, I developed a MRSA infection in my neck afterwards. I don't necessarily blame Dr. Benevides for this, but his care for me afterwards was very subpar. He reopened the incision and rinsed it out. I spent 5 days in the hospital after this and he visited me the next ...

He did 2 back surgery's on me the first one failed so he did another one. I told him in the hospital I was really hurting and he said dont be a wuss. I ended up be diagnosed with aracnoiditis. I hurt all the time. I use 160 or so pain pills a month to even move . It has been getting worse and worse every year. I kinda wish now I would of went after him in court. Kinda hard to live on $1000 a month. There are days I cant even get out of bed and some days I think I need to end the pain. Soon as I was diagnosed with aracnoiditis he stopped taking my phone calles saying there was nothing more he could do. Not that I would let him do anymore to me. Dude is a complete waste of medical training.

Dr. Benavides did excellent work on the problem with my neck. The way he paid attention to my every pain, and the excellent result was tremendous!

This surgeon completed a two level lumbar fusion for me. I wish I would have used him for my prvoius back surgeries. He was kind, supportive and each step made sure I felt comfortable with the care plan.

A very impressed with himself doctor that was unable, or unwilling to to help me. Finally found a doctor in Colorado that fixed my issue.
