List of Rick J. Windle's Reviews
Dr. Windle is a skilled, compassionate surgeon! He takes time to ease his patient's fears and answer every question. He's the best!
I am not impressed by the level of care this office shows post-procedure. My breast biopsy showed some abnormal cells, which Dr. Windle removed surgically. Turned out not to be cancerous, which was great news. I was told that within 5 days I could resume normal activities. When I explained that I was extremely active - I teach dance four days a week, swim 3-5 times a week, do light weights, Pilates, and low-impact aerobics - I was told to wait 10 days, which I did. Three months later, I am still in a terrific amount of pain. I developed a seroma, a build-up of fluid. It created a "side boob," an area along the side of my breast and ribcage which looked like a small additional breast. Dr. Windle's office drained it once, and it was drained twice by my local physician. And yet it persists. I am told that it is no longer a single pocket of fluid but has become multiple small pockets which cannot be drained. I am told these pockets will "eventually" be reabsorbed back into my body. When I ask how long they mean by "eventually" - 6 months, a year, 5 years, 10 years, 20 years? - I am met with silence. The question is avoided. I have extreme stabbing pain at the pectoral muscle. My nipple feels like it is going to explode. The "side boob" aches constantly. The medial side of my breast has intermittent stabbing pains. No one thinks this is normal. One would think a conscientious physician might want to find the cause of this abnormality and try to fix it. Instead, they shuffled me off to someone else, to a "fluid manipulation specialist." I truly felt like they just didn't want me to be their problem anymore. After the first treatment, I felt good for 5 days. After the second, I felt OK for 2 days. After the third, it started getting worse. My surgery was in mid-August, and it is now mid-December. I am now back to the level of pain I was experiencing in September. Normal activities are extremely painful, and I cannot do everything I used to do before the surgery. I can't sleep. Teaching dance is painful and difficult. I can't swim. As an athlete I am generally rather stoic about pain, but this is beyond tolerable. I called again, a month after our last conversation. and the PA recommended acupuncture or other pain management strategies. I'm sorry, but I am less interested in pain management than I am in having them figure out what went wrong and fix it. Instead I feel like they just don't want me to be their problem; I always get the impression on the phone that they just want me to go away and stop bothering them. The PA actually hung up on me in the middle of a sentence. This was supposed to be a simple procedure. This is not the level of care I would expect from any professional, and these are not the results I was led to anticipate. No one warned me about this possibility. No one seems to want to find out the nature of the problem. They just want me to go away. After the New Year I will be starting all over with my deductible and will have to pay for all these additional treatments. This has completely hijacked my life. I do not recommend this surgeon or this office. Go elsewhere if you want a surgical office with staff who will act as if they actually care about you.
This is a repeat treatment from Dr Windle after breast cancer surgeries over 20 years ago. I wouldn’t go anywhere else and was relieved to find him still in Lincoln in practice! He’s a blessing to me and a top professional in his field I appreciate his kindness and empathy with me and taking extra time to answer every question.
i had breast cancer and Dr Windle and his staff took excellent care of me. I recommend my mother and my daughter to them
Exceedingly competent. Dr. Windle gives clear explanations, has great staff, and superior post-surgery follow-up.
I do not recommend this doctor or staff to anyone.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
