List of Thomas A Graul's Reviews
My experience with Dr. Grail was nothing less than outstanding! He had a very nice chair side manner and explained things in an understanding way. My appointment was an urgent need and he was able to get me in within a matter of hours. Also, due to the rain, a young associate of his, (Dakota) came to my car with an umbrella to escort me to the lobby. I could clearly see him from my car and he could have waved me in but chose to came and get me. Talk about quality customer service! I normally received my eye care at the Omaha VA but have to tell you Dr. Grail and his team are worthy of imitation.
The staff and interns are friendly, efficient, and professional. I don't know how they do it, considering how sharp and condescending Dr. Graul is. He may be a brilliant surgeon and a magnificent tutor to his interns, and he has taken care of my particular eye issue over the years; but he could use a lesson in exhibiting at least a modicum of caring. He doesn't even have to mean it, just pretend. I think I can do better in finding an ophthalmologist.
While Dr. Graul might not be for everyone, he is the right one for me. He is direct, thorough and to the point. Extremely professional. I have been dealing with a rare form of Glaucoma since college. It was always treated as such but I never knew what form of Glaucoma it was until I saw Dr. Graul. At age 52 now, I recently had cataract surgery and a glaucoma surgery procedure on my left eye. Amazingly, I have 20/20 vision now in my left eye. If you have a serious vision problem, I highly recommend.
While Dr. Graul may not be for everyone, he has been the perfect choice for me. He is direct, to the point and extremely thorough. While that may come off as rude or condescending to some, I can barely imagine the level of stress he and his staff must endure. At 52, I have had a rare form of Glaucoma since college. It was always treated as 'glaucoma' but I never knew what was causing it until seeing Dr. Graul. After cataract surgery and a glaucoma procedure in my left eye , I am now 20/20.
Dr. Graul is a highly-skilled surgeon who is unwilling to accept anything less than the best. For example, he asked me to return to the office to double-check a measurement that seemed "off" to him (it was, indeed, correct the first time). He is very thorough, and I would not trust another with my precious eyesight.
My father saw him several times and he was never warm and fuzzy, but the final straw was when he literally yelled at my father out of frustration because my father asked him to speak up. Completely ridiculous that you'd treat a patient that way. We have found another doctor and I would NEVER recommend Dr. Graul to anyone.
Terrible chairside manner - never warm and fuzzy but the final straw was when my father asked him to speak up he literally yelled at him telling him to wear hearing aids next time. Completely unacceptable. We have found a new doctor.
Not a personable person plus last visit consisted of over three hours of waiting. Final straw was when I asked the tech who was going over surgery appointment if we were done and was snapped at rudely. The absence of customer service makes this a place I'd rather not go.
Dr. Graul is an excellent eye care provider. He is extremely thorough and careful to review the full chart before my visits. Like many doctors these days, he pays a bit too much attention to his computer when I'm in the room, but to a certain extent it's understandable, given the need to complete so much more paper work than in previous years.
I am reading the previous review and that person was having a bad day to say the least. Name calling is totally inappropriate and completely off base. I'm guessing that St. peter or the pope would have been called names(even the spelling was incorrect)! Dr Graul was exceptional. He explained everything very well. And the issue with the glacoma was very complicated. We had several questions and he was patient and very accommodating. I HAVE recommended his care to several people! I have NO reservations to having any member of my family cared for by this knowledgeable and caring professional!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
