I have lived in Omaha 68 years. My 4 children and all my surgeries have been done there. Recently I needed pulmonary care. I received a text from Bergan changing my appointment. I called for clarification no one knew what I was talking about so I didn't go. Big mistake. I had to call for another appointment. I sat on hold 25 minutes. When I finally got someone to help me I was told I couldn't get an appointment until August because the calendar wasn't even up yet. The hospital is bigger, more staff but I can't get in until August. I've never had to wait this long. What has happened to my favorite hospital

Took my mom their as she was having pvc's. They got her into a room quickly, drew blood and xray and then failed to come back into the room for 2 hours. When i went out to get the nurse she came in a half hour later stating they wanted to now start an iv etc..... terrible communication as when I told the doctor we have been waiting forever and she replied " an average ER visit is three to four hours".... I said " we have reached that. Took my 90 year old mom home to rehydrate her and get out of that place!

Fucking horrible. They absolutely butchered me after a messed up epidural and proceeded to damage my back further. Instead of getting a competent doctor the nurse just keep trying as I screamed on the table. Completely unprofessional and I waited six fucking hours. 0/10 don't go here unless you want permanent nerve damage.

I was born at Bergan & so were all of my kids. My MIL also received excellent care there. This hospital out performed Lakeside in every instance of care.

I have been to this hospital several times. I was most recently there this past Monday morning through Wednesday afternoon. I was treated with respect, given more time and attention than I knew what to do with, and was made to feel comfortable. Everyone made me feel like they wanted to be there, rather than as if they were just there for a check. It somehow made a difference (for the better) both physically and mentally. A specific shout-out to Daniella S (6th floor, if I screwed up your name, please let me know) -- just awesome. That in know way takes anything away from anyone else, ok? Just had to put something out there. OK. I'm done.

We had our second child with Chi. The issues came with billing after birth. Chi sent us an initial bill for the total cost of birth, because my 2 day old child wasn't on my insurance... Next they sent a series of 5 different bills for the same two days we were in the hospital. When I inquires why there were 5 bills. I was told, wait while they would consolidated the bills with insurance. That never happened and 90 days later we received a bill from a debt collector! I ended up paying all 5 bills to avoid hurting my wife's credit. At the age of 32, as a military veteran, this is easily the most convoluted, non-communitive experience I've ever had trying to pay a bill. Shame on you CHI. I guess it's time to start looking for a new family doctor.

I cannot say enough bad things to sum up my experience here last month. I had kidney stones for the first time and was in the worst pain of my life. Not only did the two ladies working the front fail to tell me their ER was full and it would be two hours before I could be seen, they were far more concerned with playing on their cell phones than with helping patients at all. They never got my insurance information during this time so that created more work for me now and the doctors did a horrific job of explaining what was going on. I didn't realize how badly they'd dropped the ball until my follow up with the urologist the next week. I had complications they didn't tell me about that could've had dire consequences. I will literally never step foot inside this hospital again and will advise all of my loved ones to do the same. The young women working the desk at the ER need moved to a department not dealing with the public as there's zero excuse for how I, and others that day, were treated when we came to the hospital for help.
