I just deleted was I previously stated about this facility. In the beginning things were good and I was happy dad was out of Madonna. My sister told me tonight the things she is seeing and hearing from my dad. He was cold last week and the night nurse came in and threw a blanket on him. My dad had a stoke and can only use his right side. I work in healthcare and this is not ok. There are other concerns that I won’t go into right now. But I will be coming home the beginning of June.
Poor communication. Patient care suffers.
If I could rate this facility lower than a one I would. My mother spent a few weeks at this location after a long hospital stay. The facility itself is nice, the food was decent but those are about the only good things about the place. The CNAs are lazy and make excuses for everything, had to wait an hour+ to get her call light answered that us as the family would do what we could to assist, medication was never given when it was suppose to be, trying to get a nurse to give her insulin because the people that hand out medication can’t for whatever reason was like pulling teeth, went HOURS with very high blood sugars before she’d get her insulin. She was suppose to be transported to and from appointments a few times a week and always ended up being late. Visiting hours are very inconvenient, doors would look at 7:30 on weekends and we’d have to stick around to help her get ready for bed and nobody wants to get to bed that early, then we’d have to wonder the building looking for someone to let us out. I 100% would NEVER recommend the facility to anyone.
Staff if always short 1 aid for 36 people is rediculous. Management needs to learn how to manage. They dont seem to help if its not in there job description. Never enough help at night for us oatients..not uncommon to wait an hr to go to the bathroom.
I entered Hillcrest on 1 Nov 21 and was discharged on 23 Dec21. My stay was exceptional. From the highest staff to the lowest staff member, I was treated with respect, exceptional care and courtesy. The room and bathroom were well kept, clean and sanitary. The food was good. The kitchen did everything possible to accommodate my requests. The common areas clean and adequate. Hillcrest arrange my medical transportation to my doctors, to the hospital and to my dialysis treatment facility. Their rehab program was excellent enabling me to go home after 8 weeks (broken left leg falling downstairs in my home). I am still on home rehab from Hillcrest with their staff coming to my house. I am 77 years old. I broke my left leg by falling down my basement steps. If for any reason you need to go to a rehab facility, I strongly recommend Hillcrest Millard.
COMPLETELY NEGLIGENT CARE!I have a family member at this facility and the level of "care" provided is atrocious!Earlier this week, while visiting my family member, I witnessed her verbally order a chicken salad sandwich for lunch. Not only did the order take over an hour to deliver... there was no chicken salad in the sandwich. It was just bread!! Someone please explain how this is possible??? When we asked the kitchen to explain... they simply said, "Well, she must have scooped that part out." Really? There was zero evidence of that on completely dry toast. During this same day, my family member was not served or even offered breakfast. She was completely ignored until about 11am with no care or check in.Since checking my family member into this facility, the staff agreed that due to my family member's age and fragility, a lift device would be needed to move her into and out of bed. I've caught the staff on THREE separate occasions move my family member without this lift device... it was 1-3 people attempting to move her. As a result of this negligence, my family member's foot was broken. And then, due to the break, the staff placed a boot on her foot. ON THE COMPLETELY WRONG FOOT! Even the physical therapist noticed this error immediately... and started to laugh! I suppose the break and discoloration near the break weren't clear enough indicators of a serious enough injury for a basic foot brace/boot???We have photographic, video, and documented evidence of gross negligence, malpractice, and general lack of care and WILL be looking into lawsuits.Your family WILL die here if you check them in here. I cannot fathom what condition my family member would be if my family and I weren't there on a near daily basis actually providing some level of care.
If there was an option for zero stars that might be enough. It has been a disaster since day one my mom admitted there. Had to beg for an air mattress due to a pressure sore the occured in their care. She isn't checked but maybe twice a day for brief changes. Baths are virtually nonexistent. Found her pills in her cabinet in a pill container or on the floor. Her clothes aren't changed daily. They put her to bed in the same shirt she had on for the day. Her bedding isn't changed regularly and filthy. I have seen a nurse actually come in and check on her twice in a couple weeks. Getting basic ensure or thickened water is like pulling teeth and always a delay. I have never seen such horrible care in my life. They basically might get her out of bed and put her in wheelchair or recliner for hours never getting checked on. Calls and concerns are brought up to the charge nurse and DON. Always with a response "I'll look into that" and never getting back. The next call will be to the State for formal complaints!
I would give this place negative stars if I could. Apparently it’s common practice not to wash patient’s clothing, make sure they have basic necessities like glasses and really only seem to care about getting their money (in the long term) I have not received one phone call about my mom’s healthcare and what they’re doing or changing. I cannot wait to get my mom out of this place and fully intend of bringing all of the issues up to my attorney.
My stepfather was a patient here for three weeks recovering from a nasty fall in August. I found the facility clean, friendly and the best place for him during his recovery. It was exactly what he needed after being depressed and a week in the hospital from the fall. He especially wanted me to write in the review that Kari, Rachel and Jessica were instrumental in getting him back on his feet. His experience and the transition to home was terrific. Thank you Hillcrest!
The hospice Nurses were amazing. They definitely deserve 5starts and above. However, the non hospice nurses and staff need more training. The lack of professionalism and communication skills, not only on an individual bases but also between departments needs vast improvements.Leaving a person with no leg and neck strength on a commode for over an hour plus multiple times, wating for food for over 4 hours, waiting for a glass of water for hours only to receive a tiny cup , making a patient try to stand knowing they have no leg muscles and constantly being told how painful it is , in my opinion is extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. Even after bring up these issues multiple times with staff and higher ups it still happened. If you are your loved one leaves make sure to grab any items while you are there other wise it will take a lot of phone calls and emails to locate any items left behind.Building and rooms are up to date and nice. The non-hospices staff needs a lot of work along with not only updating but following procedures, polices and protocol.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
