Amazing man and so thorough, definitely would recommend

Ive been under Dr Murphys care for a number of years. I refute the claims that he is disinterested. In an environment where Sligo caters for a ver large case load for MS in particular this Doctor takes time to care for his parients. In relation to medical care it is easy to see which practitioners actually care and Dr Murphy certainly does care. I mark low on punctuality but that is really as the clinics typically overrun but in fairness this is because he takes as much time as each patient needs.

This Dr rang us on his week off from his home, there’s no neurologist working weekends at Galway/Sligo/letterkenny, this is not the fault of the hospitals it’s the lousy corrupt government that knows very well that the northwest of Ireland won’t win an election so it’s two fingers up to us from Dublin, this Dr runs clinics as well weekly from letterkenny as well, he has thousands of patents to manage and very little budget to work with, even if you don’t like Sinn Fein or their policies vote them in anyway, the HSE needs funding properly, this Dr is doing his best and putting in long hard hours, let’s change things and help these people help us.

Very sound man that listens to his patients, hard to get a hold of sometimes as he's quite busy but the neurology nurses in Sligo are great. Have been seeing this neurologist for about 4 years now and every time I meet him he doesn't just ask about my symptoms but has an actual conversation with you and asks about all aspects of life and if anything has been affected by my condition. Nothing but nice things to say about him

Avoid this doctor he is only good for epilpicy and thing along the lines of ms.i have an extremely rare brain condition it's the type that the sooner its gets treatment the better the results.btain damage is already very there I have symtoms and conditions as a result this man is very two faced and a compulsive lyer he has no time for disabilitys that are rare ,multiple or severe as a result of this man I am treated beyond appalling in hospitals I have started having nightmares ect of the way I was treated mostly by nurses and they would all say dr murphy was the man behind what happens he uses my other medical conditins for reasons not to help me my whole life has Ben taken from me please please don't be fooled by this mans soft voice and smile if the nurses and doctors don't help you or treat you bad you can granite if you get your files his name will be all over it he plays the I don't recall card which I haven't uttered a false word to this man but he cannot say the same for himself .please I am under expressing how bad he has left me and he just sits and shrugs his shoulders yes he can mask as the nice little doctor but have a condition that challenges this man and he will leave you to get worse and worse and he won't care how you live or what's taken from you.i am in despite need for an orperation to stabilize my condition and he has made coments about me having many medical conditins which are majority genetic he gave me a vitamin tablet for headace when i have had four lumbar punctures with significant relieve as he knows its excess fluid pushing in the brain causing the headaces as when some fluid is removed I not in pain and it relieves any symptom caused by this condition expect memory as that a he says might not repair but his attitude towards me in my last consultation was very hurtful he sat texting on his phone and if he wasnt doing this he sat with his arms folded and legs crossed even examining me he wasnt taking my condition into consideration .people seemed fooled by mr nice guy stop to think he is too nice in front of people this is very understatement to say the least but most people will roll there eyes but to that person out there that been treated bad beyond your imagination keep fighting you matter

Dr. Murphy has been my doctor since my son was born, yes 31 years ago!!! Having a primary care physician is about building relationship, building trust and having the one go to for your medical needs - he's a phenomenal physician who wholeheartedly cares for his patients. In moments when I needed urgent care, Dr. Murphy always managed to accommodate me regardless of his filled schedule. Needless to say, he doesn't believe in feeding his patients with unnecessary medication, which is greatly appreciated. Now that he has switched to Advocate Medical Group, I will certainly follow him there.

When my employer switched insurance plan which meant that I had to search for a new doctor and everything that goes with switching of insurance. After doing researching on various doctors and the hospitals they are affiliated with, I decided on Dr. Murphy.I was able to make an appointment via phone for a yearly physical. The receptionist was very pleasant. Luckily, I was able to have an appointment the next morning. She had advised me about what I need to prepare for the examination.The office is very convenient since the location is on several bus lines stop and offers parking. The office is very basic. The check-in was very routine. The wait for the doctor was minimal. After being taken into one of the examining rooms, the RN took to vitals. About 15 minutes later, Dr. Murphy entered the room. He was very engaging before he had reviewed my past history. From there, the exam started. About 30 minutes, I was done.Dr. Murphy followed up with me couple of days regarding the results. After the results, he wanted to know if there's any concerns or questions. I had few other questions regarding other shots that were past due.... nothing urgent. I have scheduled another appointment via the Amita Healthcare's website which is very user friendly. So far, I would recommend Dr. Murphy.

An excellent Neurologist who consults with patients in a fashion that is inclusive and extremely professional. His follow up is not only meticulous but also extremely considerate. I have happily remained under his care and will continue to do so for as long as he remains available.

Excellent doctor he does everything properly nothing goes unchecked. He is very caring wants to make sure your alright at all costs best neurologist ever

I have to agree with the previous comment. I found him disinterested, with an unprofessional attitude and comments.
