Chris Demers is a sensitive boy/man child who fires patients he hasn’t even seen if they have a complaint against Sierra Neurosurgery instead of fixing the problem. His Nurse Practitioner told me I needed surgery, but then the office refused to return my call for a month when I asked if they received my most recent imaging results. So when I resorted to a google review to let everyone know, I finally got a call back, to let me know I was receiving a letter letting me go from the office. My family is full of local providers who are no longer referring patients to him due to his office’s treatment of their daughter/niece.Do not go to this person or to Sierra Neurosurgery as they value their hurt feelings over providing care to people in need of SURGERY. That’s right, someone who swore to “do no harm” could not care less about you, only his reputation.
Refused to see my wife because she was 4 minutes late. After additional discussion they kicked us out. They told her that she should have remembered. Guess Sierra Nuerosurgery Group doesn't realize that their patients have memory issues. They must not care about patients that have brain issues. Go somewhere else please. This office needs to fall apart.
Dr. Christopher Demers botched my surgery resulting in an enbelism, leaving my legs and hands crippled. My hands were never an issue before the second surgery and enbelism. Then rudely "dismissed" me as his patient! He gives this talented group of talented Dr.s a black eye! He also yelled at me in my hospital bed because I didn't demand physical therapy! His arrogance supercedes any talent he may have! Beware of Dr Christopher Demers!

I would highly recommend Dr. Demers. After 4 years of lower back pain that limited my activities and travel plans, I was introduced to Dr. Demers. He performed an easy out-patient procedure that totally relieved my back pain. I am so thankful and back to a pain free life!!
I would highly recommend Dr. Demers. He is thorough with his evaluation and explanations. He is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable.
best doctor and staff I have ever had
Dr. Demers and his staff are wonderful! He is highly skilled and very knowledgeable about all procedures. He speaks openly and honestly explaining all the details in a comprehensive and understanding way, so that one can make an informed decision regarding your own health. Because of the surgeries he performed on me, my quality of life has vastly improved. Some day, I would even like to work at this office. Patient centered care is his utmost priority, and I highly recommend him for any neurosurgery needs.
Very thorough and explains things well. Having surgery is never fun but having a doctor make you feel comfortable with the process is a huge relief for me and my family. Highly recommend.
Let me start by saying my husband is VA on our second visit we were told all he needed was a pain block. 3 hours later we got a call saying he didn't have the entire report and he did need surgery . At that point we should have gone back to the VA and asked for another doctor but we tried to trust Dr. Demers . The recovery in the hospital was a disaster. My husband was sent home with nothing to really help with the pain of the surgery making recovery very slow and painful. After going back for his follow up he was told it would take 6 months to a year for him to feel better. We now have to go to see a new doctor in San Francisco to find out what's going on with his back. All I can say is if your a vet you don't want this doctor!!!!
an hour agoDr. Demers provided my mom a botched neck surgery back in the summer of 2016. The follow up appointments consisted of him arrogantly informing her that his surgery was a masterpiece. He is incredibly talented at talking down to his patients & shuting them up. I was in the room ready to stick up for her, but I could not gain the courage to stand up to him. In the years since, she has started getting many seizures a day, a paralyzed left side (entire body) and many other horrifying issues... The atmosphere that has been created by this brilliant doctor has discouraged us from any follow up. Now we've found two separate specialists- a neurologist & a neurosurgeon questioning what he did & citing his work to her many alimants.
I came to Dr. Demeres on August 4th of 2018. I had an accident and suffered 6 brain hemmorages. He is extremely talented, I am still typing :) Without getting into the graphic details of the numerous procedures that he perfomred on me ( google; Burr Hole, Drill in Brain, MSSA Brain), I can say that I am completley amazed what he was able to accomplish. Aside from his technical skill set he was very caring, I did not want to go back to the hospital mostly because of an infection that I got in my brain. I was released for a short period of time and he help me take care of my brain infection. Dr. Demeres is a very gracious and caring man. If you ever have to have your head opened up, Dr. Demeres is the man you should trust to do it.I had my last operation on January 2019. I am happy to say that I have adjusted to my new metal plate in my head and I am infection free!
He listens and is very respectful. These are traits I value. He is extremely knowledgeable and his advice is always solid. He shares alternatives for treatment and surgery isn’t necessarily the first one. I really appreciate his care.
I liked his honesty and subsequent surgery. 80% better. Follow his advise for the best outcome.
I recently had surgery from Dr. Demers for lumbar stenosis (narrowing spurs) @ L4 and L5 that was causing worsening numbness in my entire leg and prevented me from enjoying an active lifestyle. Dr. Demers had diagnosed and basically encouraged me to have the surgery (without coming right out and saying I needed the surgery)....I was very fortunate to have found Dr. Demers. Im now post operative 4 1/2 weeks and the numbness and pain is gradually subsiding. He had indicated that my recovery would continue over a period of time because the nerves had been pinched for about 3 years. The nerve roots had to uncoil and recover from being pinched. He performed a minimally invasive surgery and had told me that even though he enjoyed performing surgeries, he would not do it without him considering the surgery to be necessary. I am looking forward to improving and being able to return to a more active lifestyle. I found him because my wife had an extruded cervical disc....Dr. Demers had said that her disc may recover with physical therapy which it has over the past 3 months...without surgery! He also respects his office staff and hiscompetent P.A. and listens to his P.A.s opinion which also says a lot about his character.
Always treated surgery as the LAST option because complications can happen. I would send my whole family to him highly skilled AND honest!
I went to Dr Demers after suffering from back and leg pain for almost a decade. I was scared to see a surgeon, but he made me feel comfortable. He listened to me, answered all my questions completely, he didnt cut me off. When it came to surgery, he showed me the MRI,and went through several surgical options and explained why he thought my surgery was necessary. Office staff was great especially his nurse practitioner, Jen Minard. Surgery went very well and I feel so much better. I should have seen Dr. Demers years ago.
glad I met Dr. Demers. I can walk now!
It took 6 months for me to see Dr. Demers. He was able to figure out more in 10 minutes than my primary care doc, pain management doc and neurologist could in 6 months. Great bedside manner, I feel great now after surgery!
Listened, asked questions, discussed options, reviewed MRI with menot just the report. I the end, recommended me NOT to have surgery. Imagine that, a surgeon more concerned about my health than just cutting on me. One of the best and most caring docs Ive ever met.
