I like Dr. Reedy. But..His staff is terrible. I started seeing Dr. Reedy because I was anemic from stomach bleeds. Trying to get a call back from his office was stressful because they never called me back. I complained to Dr. Reedy and his PA Vinnie. Finally Vinnie said to me, call me and leave a message and I will get back to you after patients. Yes, that worked. I hope things are better since I havent had to see him for a year.
I really like Dr. Reedy and appreciate his medical opinion; HOWEVER, the office is an unorganized mess. I wish there were more options in Syracuse and I wish Dr. Reedy was with another practice. Appts are 12 months out, office is unorganized, and they were not able to do simple things like respond to medical records requests in a timely fashion. Bob the nurse who answers the phone seems to be out of the loop or just intentionally pushes bad info on patients to buy time for a too busy office
We spent the entire day at the hospital waiting for Dr. Reedy and he never showed for the procedure my husband was suppose to have. No phone or apology either. We better not get a bill. No way would I recommended. I had to take a day off my work. How about you reimburse us for our time since apparently you think your time is more valuable!! Disgusted!!
If you are in good health and need a basic preventative colonoscopy, Dr. Reedy is your guy. But if you have more serious gastrointestinal problems, look elsewhere. His bedside manner is lacking, he did not look at me as an individual. His PA Vinnie is terrible, he gave me several pieces of wrong information on my first visit after a major diagnosis. Both have made insensitive comments. The staff seems overworked, you will have to call multiple times if you need to speak to the doctor.
A complete idiot who doesnt want to treat people , staff rude , dont schedule appointments in a timely manner, change minds, dont get back to you .
My husband had a complicated problem. He told the doctor his symptoms. The doctor did not listen. He was only correctly diagnosed because of the hospitalist at Crouse who insisted he be re-evaluated instead of following the directions from Syracuse Gastro. After the corrected diagnosis. My husband went from 169lbs to 117lbs over a 12 month period. We were unable to speak directly to the doctor. The scheduled appointments were so far apart that he would have crisis between appointments. We tried many times to get help from this office with no success. My husband was hospitalized in Aug. because the doctor "could not" preform a colonoscopy for 12 weeks and "could not" prescribe the correct drug until he did so. Meanwhile my husband became sicker and sicker. After this bout, he was further neglected until he was hospitalized in Dec. He was supposed to get IV nutrition and even that was delayed 3 days until he had a heart event because no one took responsibility for the orders. The surgeon and cardiologist saw my husband every day in the hospital. Syracuse gastro "forgot" to see him 3 different times and would have released him without the doctor seeing him on the final day had I not protested because he was having symptoms. My husband is alive because we found a different doctor out of the area.
