This doctor is very direct and almost acerbic, but it seems to be a result of wanting to solve a problem (and being disappointed with other doctors work thus far). Well see if Im right as my relationship with Dr. Chapman progresses.
I have been Dr. Chapman’s patient over 25 years. He is intelligent and very caring. He has helped me in so many ways.
Dr. Chapman is both kind and intelligent.
intelligent and caring. good bedside manners
The best GI doctor I have had the pleasure of meeting and to have as my current GI doctor.
Experience matters! Dr. Chapman has many years experience. The BEST IBD DOCTOR IN THE COUNTRY
New Jersey Resident. Location of office not ideal. Expensive
Wonderful doctor who has been my doctor over /0 years. Problem; I have been in and out of work for years because of multiple medical problems. Financial hardship to see Dr. Chapman.
I have been going to Dr. Chapman since 1995 for my issues with IBS and other intestinal problems and he is well educated in this field and amazing physician and I highly recommend Dr. Chapman. I Love him and I am very thankful to have him as my doctor.
superb
Dr. Chapman has been my doctor for 20 years. He is kind, caring, compassionate. Wonderful. I thought he was especially concerned about all MY health problems. However, I am just another patient.
wonderful doctor. Cant afford
I am suprised that he only cares about money. I was stupid to think he cared about my health problems for many years..
Dr. Chapman understood my suffering was real and he helped me when other doctors blew me off.

I have been Dr. Chapmans patient for 20 years.
Dr. Chapman is the best! Saves my life 3 times.
Doctor chapman has helped me more thanwords can say. I suffered so much with ulcerative colitis that i almost got an ileostomyHe has never given up me. He has been mydoctor for 17 years. He cares about memore than my own parents!
My son has UC and was in the midst of a terrible flare when we went to Dr. Chapman. Yes, the visit was very expensive and he doesnt take insurance, but it was worth every penny. I bombarded him with every question I had, and he answered all of them plus took the time to offer us plenty of other info about this disease (in laymans terms). He spent so much time with us, and we never felt rushed(even when I speak with him on the phone). My only complaint is that the follow through could be better...But, right now I dont mind being a pain and calling with my questions.(Although, the office staff sometimes sounds like they wish Id lose their number) Hes definitely old school, but he got my son into remission, so Im not complaining. I highly recommend him if you need to call in the big guns.
Dr. Chapman is an excellent physician in his field of Gastroenterolgy. And since I was plagued with a very complicated (almost hybrid) case of ulcerative colitis and Crohns Disease at age 24, 16 years ago, Ive seen MANY GIs over the years. Dr. Chapman is absolutely tops in his field. While he can be a little bit arrogant, he certainly has the goods to back it up, so it doesnt really bother me. Besides, hes very oldschool (and would be considered somewhat of a dinosaur in 2011) so his omniciesnt and omnipotent attitude is quite common in doctors of his generation. And besides, hes WORTH it, even if it irritates you a bit!! :)
