Dr Karanth is an amazing surgeon… Couldn’t ask for a nicer, more professional gentleman… Perform spinal surgery my spinal cord and nerves are involved… The outcome was exactly what he explained to me. It would be… Complete communication through the whole process… His staff is incredible… I’ve been dealing with spinal issues for most of my life and this gentleman i has improved my quality of life… God bless this wonderful gentleman….
I met Dr Karanth many years ago when I had a never in my back that was acting up. He had to do surgery and I highly recommend him. He is very thorough with explaining what to expect. His bed side manor is like being in a room with a family member. If he can fix it he will tell ad well as if he cannot he will tell you.
Dr. Karanth found my 7+year problem but doesn't prescribe pain relief. I cannot and will not have surgery with no pain relief. That's crazy
Dr. Karanth is a GREAT Physician. He did surgery on my husbands back the end of March 2022. Dr. Karanth went through everything with us before the surgery and it was a success. I would highly recommend Dr. Karanth.
Best surgeon around. He did my back twice and I feel great
My husband had back surgery in 2022 and Dr. Karanth did a GREAT job! He went over everything with us before the surgery and took his time to answer all of our questions. I would highly recommend Dr. Karanth.
I have been seeing Dr.Karanth since 2014, when I learned that I had Chiari Malformation type 1 and Syringmyelia that were causing me to have massive headaches and migraines to the point nothing was helping me, I had live in pain because of them. He’s truly the best doctor I have ever been to, he is trustworthy and knowledgeable, especially with my condition. I have already had two surgeries done by him and since then I’m about to live my life better and the massive headaches/migraines have sufficiently gone away, yes I do got headaches here and there but not like before. He’s the only surgeon that I would trust and allow to do this type of surgery. He’s very thorough about each surgery he did, explain what he was going to do and what the goal would be. Hands down, he is the best, I wouldn’t go to anyone else but him.

Not sure who to blame here the surgeon or his office staff. My husband had an event that precipitated an MRI. He was dx with a cerebral aneurysm in Feb. Dr Karanth said he was not sure it was actually an aneurysm. Enter covid 19. A CAT scan on June 4th was done and the dx was the same: cerebral aneurysm . Today is June 19th. We have not heard one word from the office of Dr Karanth. I went into the patient portal for Dr Karanth and saw that as of June 4th, his office had the latest CAT scan. So why no call? BTW, my husband called this office around June 10th. No return call. We got a second opinion today. Yesterday I setup an appointment at Lahey, and this morning my husband had a phone conference with another doctor. Do not go to this neurosurgeon unless you want your symptoms to be ignored.
As another patient mentioned before, Dr Karanth has also restored my faith in healers. I came to him by recommendation of my pain management Doc who said if he was going to have a spinal surgery this is who he would go to and I completely see why. Getting the brush off and run around for a few years in regards to how much pain I was in and actually being heard. I had more than one doctor insinuating that it was in my head. Dr. Karanth sent me for new scans and based on what he saw said I think I can help, and help he did. I am 7 weeks post op and the severe nerve pain basically causing my left leg to misfire and feel like it wasn’t mine. He had me scheduled within 3 weeks and the surgery went perfectly, I followed restrictions to the letter, a few weeks of PT and my keg is mine again! I can’t thank him enough for listening and really seeing me . A lot of times in healthcare it seems like docs are in a hurry and just going through motions only looking for the usual suspects. Dr Karanth is the diamond in the rough - Jill DeLeary

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
