Brett L. Smith's Online Review Report Card

I am shocked at some of the reviews posted here. I have been doing Dr. Smith for years and he has never been dismissive of any issues I have had. I have seen many doctors and have left feeling completely crazy because my pain seems to move between different joints. Dr. Smith has taken more time to both listen to me, and explain my condition than anyone I have ever seen before. He is very knowledgeable about various treatment options and worked persistently to help me find the best one for me. I feel lucky to see Dr Smith and am more than willing to drive over 30 minutes to do so as he is one of the most thorough physicians I have seen. The poor reviews on this page do not seem true to the experience I have had over time. One posted review complained that he mentioned adult coloring books as a way to reduce stress. All that indicates to me is that he is caring and looking at the whole individual and not just the symptoms someone is presenting in that moment. I feel sure that he explains to many of his patients, myself included, the role stress can play in many of the conditions he is treating. I believe the fact that he is looking at lifestyle as well as medical treatments makes him a more skillful clinician. Too many doctors do not take the same time to listen as Dr Smith and simply try to medicate a problem away, which perhaps is what that specific patient was expecting. Fortunately Dr Smith is a better doctor than that.

Down to business, not super chatty but he was busy so I get it. he had every sign of being in-the-moment and all about the numbers. all in all a good first experience.

Dr Smith presents as very professional and appears to be competent. I will continue to keep him as my eye care service provider.

The people at Concord Eye Center were wonderful to work with. There was not a long wait time and they all seemed very knowledgeable and professional. I have no complaints.

Dr Smith was great . This was my first time seeing him, as my regular Dr was all booked up. He was quick and precise and dealt with my issues and I left with a plan. Thank you Dr Smith.

I recently saw Dr. Smith and felt very dismissed. I was diagnosed with several autoimmune disorders several years ago and he tells me since my bloodwork came normal that I have something called, “Amplified Pain Syndrome” and he told me everything I told he was checking off for that basically. He put me in a box and completely dismissed my story. I feel very hurt and I almost don’t want to see another specialist because of this experience.
