Gerard A. Dillon, MD very rude doctor I was there with my daughter he opened the door and said what are you doing
Someone really needs to file a classaction lawsuit against this place! Thier reception workers, their security upholding unbecomming conduct of their own people and siding against patients stating they have no camera footage when theres several cameras in the area to try and protect their own missconduct and saying they saw nothing while standing right there watching the unbecomming behavior of other staff, how thier staff violate hippa laws change info and appointments without permision and to the extent of illegally changing and altering medical info etc, and it seems the ratings for most hitchcock places are they same its long over due for a serious internal investigation against their workers, their illegal activities and harassment and discrimination against their patients especially in the concord office, the reviews speak for themselves here! 2.8 rating and dropping!
Lab department sat around and chatted while people wete in the waiting room for more than 10 minutes... when the door opened I actually saw someone just sitting in a chair looking out at the waiting room...really...we all have jobs to get back to but by all means let everyone take a break at the same time...even the receptionists were sitting together laughing while one had her window closed. I usually have good service but not today I actually had to go to the desk and tell them. I had to leave in order for them to tell me. Oh we were just gonna call you
If you go in for your preventative, yearly physical and they make any adjustments to your meds... they will code it so you have to pay out of pocket. Other Dartmouth Health locations do not do this. Complete money grab and passes cost to the consumer.
Called this morning because I tested positive for covid 19. I told them that my husband tested positive a day earlier and was placed on paxlovid from his doctor in Boston. I said that I see my doctor at DHMC regularly and would appreciate a prescription as my husband and I were very sick to drive into Concord. They said I had to be seen or do a telehealth visit in 6 days. Paxlovid is only effective with 5 days of covid symptoms! They said no available appts. and to go to an urgent care facility. So why bother to have a PCP at DHMC in Concord if they send you to urgent care when you are sick and in need of help when you are an established patient. NO ONE THERE WAS HELPFUL! I will be looking for a new health care clinic.
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Theresa Oliveira is EXTREMELY RUDE. Trying to tell my husband and I what we NEED to do when it wasn't not only necessary but Dartmouth Lebanon (where we were for 4 months after our daughter was born) said we didn't need to do these "Extra's". She also tried convincing us to get different speciality doctors instead of ours from Lebanon and clearly didn't read any notes from Lebanon because she was asking me the medical questions... umm aren't you the doctor??
Updated May 2023: When I first wrote this review, I praised all the medical staff, but complained of how impossible it was to actually get an appointment, especially in primary care. Recently, they have done a much better job at scheduling, so I'm bumping up my rating. Even so, one of my original points stands: you're going to end up seeing a different provider on every visit (other than annual checkups), so you don't get that "continuity of care" as they call it, and will have to explain your ongoing problems to many different people. Sure, they all share files, but you won't get that level of familiarity you might have at a smaller office.
I never have to wait very long and everyone is very friendly. Thank you
I agree with other reviewers who say that the primary care doctors here do not want to accept appointments. My son had a seizure on an airplane. Luckily, there was a doctor on the plane who was able to check him out and told him that we should see a doctor the next day. Guess what? The primary care doctor at the Dartmouth Hitchcock clinic in Concord would not see him. We were told that he would have to see a neurologist instead. I know from experience that the Neurology practice they referred us to schedules out months in advance. My son had not had a seizure in many years, so was not on any epilepsy medication, as formerly. His seizures are major tonic-clonic seizures when he loses consciousness, the whole experience was very upsetting to us, and it was very upsetting that the primary care doctor refused to assess his need for medication. I don’t know what primary care doctors doin this practice. It seems that they only handle very minor issues – the sort of thing that you wouldn’t even need to be a doctor to do – and then refer anything else to a specialist, which, in our area, means you wait months for an appointment, which doesn’t seem to matter to them.. I would give them one star for this experience, but give it two stars because we have been going to this clinic for almost 30 years, and not all experiences are as bad as this one was, though, overall, access is getting worse and worse here.
Receptionists are very rude. I told them I was profoundly dead and they refused to write down what they were saying, refused to speak up, and basically refused to to communicate. Went to see the dermatologist who was rude and unprofessional. First he was 25 minutes late for my appointment. He talked way too fast and did not want to slow down so I could hear him and understand what he was saying. instead he chose to speak to the other person in the room. I didn’t get to ask all my questions because he was in such a hurry and didn’t care I guess. I left feeling dehumanized and unsure. Ythe worst service I’ve ever had

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
