Andrew E Werchniak's Online Review Report Card

I went to see Dr. Werchniak a while ago when I was having unexplainable hives. He was very attentive and listened to what I had to say. He did a full set of labs to see if there was any underlying issue. He was very knowledgeable and intelligent, but approachable and personable at the same time. I would 100% recommend him!

Little waiting, ample parking, doctor and staff are pleasant and friendly. Dr. W. carefully checks my skin and treats as necessary. When my PCP misdiagnosed an allover itchy skin rash, he gave an immediate appointment and a quick effective treatment.

Office overall seems more interested in money than medicine and helping people. I don't fell that Dr. Werchniak did a thorough skin cancer screening. It was very quick and nowhere near as comprehensive as I have experienced with other dermatologists.

This is an unethical practice. My husband went in for a suspicious mole. The doctor said there was a tick on my husband and charged hundreds of dollars on our credit card (which they demanded ahead of the appointment) for the removal with a pair of tweezers. This office demands your credit card upfront and we should have recognized that red flag. Dr. Werchniak submitted over $560 charge for a 10 minute appointment to check a mole. When he supposedly discovered a tick during the visit he removed it with tweezers and proceeded to submit $375 for that removal. Carole the office manager rationalizes using a code that involves an incision for this because "we couldn't find a code" and hey it goes to deductible anyway so who cares what we charge. We do....we pay for it. Will never go here again.

My husband saw Dr. Werchniak when Doctor Dinulos was not available and he had a suspicious mole. We had been satisfied patients of Dr. Dinulos prior to this. It was just a 10 minute visit to do a mole check. During the exam, the doctor said my husband had a tick on his back and removed it. The office then proceeded to charge our credit card(which they had made us give prior to the exam) a hefty $375 just for the tick removal on top of the $150 they required up front for the exam(though the contracted price for this with Harvard was only$87.19) They did not tell us they were charging that to our card and of course it is normal procedure to run things through the insurance company first. When we talked to Carole the office manager and billing person, she claims this was what we agreed to when we signed the contract(not so!) and that it was just going to the deductible anyway so who cares what the amount was. Really?! We do...we're paying it. All kinds of wrong here!!!

No mention was ever made that they would charge for that...silly us we thought they would just take that insect off as a courtesy or at least a reasonable charge. Carole the office manager said it just goes to the deductible so what's the problem....guess she thought if insurance would pick it up who cares what they charge....well we do and we will never go back which is a shame because we liked Dr. Dinulos who was too busy to get an appointment with.

Short wait. He explains things about my condition that it is easily understood by me. He's compassionate, yet has a very professional air about him. I find him extremely knowledgeable, and confident. He took my fearful concerns away, immediately.

Completely lied about what was said in visit to fit his diagnose. Will be reporting him. This lead to me being mist diagnosed . Almost died.

If you are looking for a thorough and caring Dermatologist I can highly recommend Dr. Werchniak. My visits with him have been very helpful and informative. I had several problem pre cancer spots that were concerning to me. Dr. Werchniak treated successfully, these pre cancer spots and also helped me understand what I was dealing with and thoroughly explained the condition of the spots that alleviated my concerns.
