My son was on the fence at the end of the process about whether or not to have the gastric bypass procedure because of the fear of the unknown. Dr. Havaleshko helped him to see the benefits and gained his trust and confidence that this was the best path. As a family, we value Dr Havaleshko and Wentworth Douglass Bariatric Program. He helped to give my son the strength to choose this path for himself. He is personable and caring about the health and wellness of my son and this shines through in every interaction that he has with him. This surgery has been a huge success and a big part of that has been all of the members of the Bariatric care team at Wentworth Douglass Hospital and especially Dr. Havaleshko.

**Update** I’m now 4 months post op and down to 236lbs. Words can’t express how thankful I am. . . . I have struggled with being overweight since I hit puberty around the age of 11. No matter what I did, I could never lose more than 20lbs and successfully keep it off. I was finally diagnosed with PCOS when I was 22. No matter what I did, the weight wouldn’t come off in the way that it needed to. I had my first baby in 2020, and shortly after that, was the heaviest I had ever been. I felt defeated, and felt like I was being swallowed up by my body and I’m not even 30 years old yet. After a crying session in an Old Navy changing room, I said enough was enough and I was going to get control over my life. I started the program in January 2023 and learned so much over the last 5 months. And for the first time in my life, I felt comfortable being honest and raw with these Drs. These Drs didn’t just see “another fat person”. They saw I was struggling and that I needed help. And help they did!! I had my surgery on June 8th 2023 and I feel great. I feel like I finally have a fighting, fair chance of getting healthy and being able to live the life I have always wanted to. The day of my surgery I was 301 and as of this morning (with my home scale) I’m down to 287. I’ll update this review in a few months to a year with progress photos—but thank you so much Dr Havaleshko & team for this amazing gift. Dr H understood how much anxiety I had with having this surgery done (I had RnY) and he assured my husband and I it would be a “very boring surgery” and boring it was! Thank you again. Thank you thank you thank you.

Update: 29 months out from RNY robotic surgery, I've lost 137 lbs and became an Aquatics Instructor at The Works, Somersworth NH. The surgeon who changed my life 360 degrees. Words can not express how grateful I am for his guidance, skill, sense of humor and follow up support after my robotic RNY, 05/2021. I have lost 111 lbs!!! And still losing, 7 months later!! The program at Wentworth Douglas Hospital Bariatric center is hands down the BEST!! Support, education, and best of all, my health has been given back to me!! I was on meds for high blood pressure, diabetes, and couldn't walk more then 50 ft without being out of breath! Today, I work out 5 days a week, can walk 5 miles, no problem, I do two classes of aqua aerobics a day and weight training 1-3 times week, plus cardio classes! My energy levels are insane!!! THANK YOU for giving me a way to get my quality of life back, plus some! You and your team are the best!!

I was recently referred to Dr. Havaleshko by my Gastroenterologist. I needed a colon resection after having a large polyp removed from my sigmoid colon. I am so very thankful to have been referred to Dr. Havaleshko. On the day of my admittance for surgery I had at least 6 to 8 staff members of Wentworth Douglass Hospital from admittance to nursing staff tell me I was so fortunate to have Dr. H as my surgeon. I am convinced he is THE BEST !!! and I am so grateful for his expertise on a difficult surgery. He is an amazing doctor. Caring, very thorough and highly respected! Dr. Havaleshko came into my room every day while I was in hospital and he even called me personally at home after I was released with the results of my pathology report. I feel Dr. Havaleshko saved my life and I am so thankful and feel so blessed. Highly recommended ❣️

Dr. Havaleshko is a wonderful surgeon. His caring demeanor and willingness to continuously help others through this fantastic robitic surgery is what makes him absolutely loved and respected by not only his team and fellow surgeons, but especially so by his patients, especially me. Dr. Havaleshko is my hero! I can never fully express my gratitude for giving me my life back. December 17, 2019 was truly a changing day in my life Dr. Havaleshko performed my gastric bypass. From the moment I met with Dr. Havaleshko the fear of surgery left me. We went over my options he explained each in detail and his recommendation for the bypass I agreed. The surgery was flawless I awoken with no pain and questioned if I had surgery I was assured that I did by Caroline King PA. Dr. Havaleshko is amazing! Caring and compassionate and truly wants you to succeed he and his amazing team is ready and willing to help you reach your goals. Wrote this over a year ago and this is an absolutely amazing program and an amazing team! 29 Months out from surgery, 2 broken noses, two broken feet and they are still by my side. During my follow endoscopy this month when I woke up I was told Dr. Havaleshko was called in to the procedure room the nurse asked if I was worried? I said No Dr. Havaleshko will fix it. Dr. Maher came in and told me that the ulcer had gotten worse and that Dr. Havaleshko had been in and I needed to call the Center. I am scheduled for a revision on May 24 and as always The Team is ready to go Dr. Havaleshko, Stacey Rhyne, Caroline King, Brian Masse, Brook Bethany, Brenda Fritz, Emily Thompson and Suzi. I have met with Dr. Havaleshko we reviewed all options, he has explained what he will be doing and made absolute certain I understood from that appointment on I have been ready to go and checking items off my list. I will be ready to go on the 24th and I know there is no better team! When I first met Dr. Havaleshko in November 2019 he said he could fix me and he did I have lost 172 lbs from my heaviest 85 lbs since surgery and maintained. I am off all Diabetic Medications, high blood pressure medication and heart medication. He doesn't make promises that he can't keep! The entire team at the Center for Weight Management and Bariatric Surgery is amazing June 2019 was a changing day in my life when I went to my information session! I have not looked back since I look foward to see what I can do next and I would not have been able to do it without surgery. Beyond grateful!

He was very understanding and answered all questions I had before surgery, and will give tough love after surgery when needed. I will say he doesn't get upset and will never consider saying anything is a "stupid" question, nor does the rest of the team, as they all would rather you ask than not know and potentially do something you shouldn't after surgery. He did my gastric bypass surgery which was done phenomenally, I didn't have too many after surgery issues, the only issues I had were the gas pains but walking helped greatly, as he said it would.

I cannot say enough about how awesome my experience with him and his whole team was.

Dr. H is simply the best. He is kind and patient, will sit with you until all of your questions are answered, he is very easy to talk with. He has a way about him that makes you feel at ease and I am so happy that I can say he is one of my providers, one that truly cares and is passionate about the work he does.
