He is a nice doctor, however I have been having issue for a long time and he just threw some medicine at me, and only ran test I asked for. After my last test I never heard back from him again. I am still suffering and he apparently doesn't care. He couldn't figure out what was wrong so he just gave up and didn't bother to even let me know. He is only good for routine issues.

If I could give negative stars I would. Now the problem I had with Dr. McCarthy was not his bedside manner - I spoke with him for a phone diagnosis then had an upper endoscopy and colonoscopy and he was pleasant throughout the entire experience... until I woke up during my colonoscopy. After the procedure, I mentioned I had woken up but I was still in a daze and unable to remember my results a day later. I tried to reach out to the office a number of times after at about 2 week intervals waiting for my results. I spoke with someone about 8 weeks later - not Dr. McCarthy mind you - saying they will mail my results. I never received them via mail. I called back and asked to speak with the Dr to go over my results and was told he was very busy and would call me within the day. I never heard from him. It seemed as though he was avoiding me after my terrible experience. Had he called or shown the tiniest bit of compassion for my pain - it would be a totally different story.

I have been a patient of Dr. McCarthy's about 26 years. He has treated me for a narrow bile duct condition that often results in pancreatitis. I have received excellent care and follow up.

I had moved to Laconia 2 years ago this June. I sought a new Primary Care Physician and was fortunate to become a patient of Dr McCarthy . I am completely satisfied with Dr McCarthy He is caring shows an honest concern on health issues I experienced .Least we forget to cast accolades on Tracy, Dr McCarthys right hand person, who never forgets to return calls on any inquiry. Great Team

Very poor service and communication. Went to see him for abdominal pain. Overbilled, no follow up, called and asked his admin to have him call me, but never called back, no concern for his patients as all as far as I can tell. I have now spent over $7,000 (out of pocket and insurance payments) and no change in my symptoms. Finding a new doctor and would not recommend him to anyone.

I brought my daughter to see him for stomach pain and constipation. He was very kind, took his time to examine her and explain what he thought we should do.
