George Idelkope's Online Review Report Card

For whatever reason I was just thinking of Dr Idelkope's office and remember all the fond memories of a multitasking Family Medicine Doctor. Some days he would be going to do house call flu shots for the employees at Vermont Yankee Nuclear Plant before it closed in 2014. He was the medical director at the plant for years. Often he was running out of the office heading to Brattleboro ER where he had an overnight shift. Glad to see he is still going strong, and taking a bit more time off each week. I figured I would write a review since yelp apparently never caught on in rural Vermont. I will make sure to stop by when I am out East again since it has probably been over 20 years.

id rate higher but as a former patient dr.idelkope failed. i spent 8 mons. with 2 fractured ribs in severe pain and he did nothing! assuming i was drug hunting was an error in his judgement and a horrible error. so..if hes judged you you will not receive proper care and that is failing as a dr.!

No bedside manner. Demonstrated no interest in problem or helping to alleviate symptoms.

Dr. Idelkope is a very competent diagnostician, and has a very comforting manor, He is conservative in his treatment options which I find very reassuring.

I am a recent newcomer to Hinsdale NH and up to now being a healthy person of 66 often passed by Dr. Idelkopf's in-town, charming 'home office' setting and pondered about such intimate personal medical settings that have disappeared from our American landscape under the guise of 'efficiency'. As it would be, I developed a late winter respiratory condition, reached out to the office and was seen that same day hours later to find a group of highly motivated community medical professionals and support staff effectively delivering aid to this small New England community. I immediately felt at home and comfortable. Weeks later after a lengthy trip I had a leg cramp/pain/swelling and a continued cough from my prior respiratory event...or at least I thought so. Dr. Idelkopf immediately recognized that I had blood clots and sent me to Brattleboro Hospital and with his urging, saw me immediately providing ultra-sounds, CT scans etc to find I had blood clots in both lungs and my leg! I could have died at any moment from further clots. After a brief supportive hospital stay I have seen Dr. Idelkopf and his staff regularly for related tests and support. They have always been flexible and open to my medical needs. This community based medical setting of the Hinsdale Family Health Center is what America has lost to 'big medicine'...I am so grateful for having this truly 'local' resource...it saved my life.

Dr. Idelkope has been my family practitioner since I was an infant. He is always available in emergency and non-emergency cases. He is always pleasant and actively listens. When I see him for routine checkups and acute issues he works with me to find the most effective outcome. His staff is pleasant and you are always met with a smile. Great man and great physician.

Dr. Idelkope has been my doctor for 27 years. He is knowledgable, up to date on current practices, a good listener, and is always available. He has the ability to handle stressful situations for the young and old in a calm and productive manner. Although His experience and expertise puts him in high demand he takes the time to explain your medical care in ways that the you can understand.

Misdiagnosed. Mistreated. Doesn't seem to care about well being of his patients.

For the past 15 years or so I have been seeing Dr. George Idelkope. He consistently gives his undivided attention, shows compassion and respect towards my wife and myself. Just recently I spent time in the hospital. He came to visit me almost daily. He has been thorough in following up with consulting doctors and maintaining communication to make sure there are no loose ends in my care. He speaks frankly and realistically. I have had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Idelkope and his staff for many years. I would highly recommend his services for anyone in need of a good doctor.
