List of Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinics Heater Road's Reviews
I went to an appointment here. Asked to about follow up and my preferences and was dismissed by the providers nurse . Had gone to DH before in Manchester without issues . This is probably the most difficult and poorly managed practice I ever seen. Made several calls to address this no. return calls. Practice manager avoiding me. I called the hospital to complain and even they were useless. Got so frustrated I hung up. I won't be dealing with Dartmouth for primary care even again. Don't come here. It's too bad really healthcare has gotten to be such a cluster F. Additionally you get the run around from Dartmouth.
Called for their lab hours, got an auto-attendant. Found out they don't open until 9:30am on weekdays but are open on Saturday at 8 (weird hours, but not a terrible option for me). Drive to the offices to find they are no longer open Saturdays effective a few days prior to when I called (they didn't update their hours on their phones). I drove a half hour to get here and put off eating for this bull. Horrible service.
The pediatric and family medicine staff are amazing! My family gets primary care here and it’s always amazing.
Efficient, not freezing cold, but not warm either. It's industrialized medical care, but it's not terrible.
Have had flu-like symptoms for over a week. Finally called my primary at Heater Road yesterday. They told me to go to ClearChoiceMD, as they couldn't get me in, even on an emergency basis. After waiting 2 hours to be seen, ClearChoice sent me to DHMC's E.R. Over the course of 4 hours, I got a chest x-ray and an EKG. By the time 7PM rolled around, I had a splitting headache and needed a fairly critical treatment at home (which I *need* to do several times a day), so I left. This morning, I was able to see my test results on MyDH.org, but they say pretty much nothing. So I called my primary's office again this morning. After 45 minutes on the phone, guess what? They said, "Go to ClearChoiceMD..." Yeah, your patients just LOVE being shoved down the chute like a chunk of meat. No wonder your reviews suck and you're going broke! If I could go see the local vet for medical care, I would.
Don't bother! I called there 18 times last year to get a prescription filled and on the 18th call I was told my appointment had been canceled due to a scheduling problem had waited 9 months for that appointment only to find out that the provider up and left the practice and never contacted me. I finally got a letter informing me of his departure but I would have to wait for a new provider. When I finally got the new provider I questioned some of the notes and got a nasty and threatening email from the practice manager. I worked at a major Massachusetts hospital for many years and if I ever sent a letter like that to a patient I would have been walked out and fired on the spot because we were taught to have compassion and to listen to our patients. I need a provider up here since I am a senior but if I would certainly head back to Massachusetts to get the quality Healthcare that I had before I moved here.
I've been coming here since 2019. I have a LOT of health issues so I see doctors pretty regularly. My primary is fantastic and I appreciate her so much. The staff has always been super helpful as well. I much prefer going here than to the main hospital.
Run as fast as you can! I've been going there for 2+ years. Good luck trying to get any refills, much less on-time. I've had to call 12 times , on one lousy refill. Taking my health care back to Massachusetts. And yes, I have been promised a call back by a nurse lots of times. I've never received one!
The communication breakdown at this location is ridiculous. I have been trying to get a referral for almost a month and keep getting bounced between this office and the main Dartmouth hospital. After multiple calls and messages I give up. I just contacted patient services but I feel like based on other reviews, that will be a futile effort as well. Try to find another local provider if you can, because this place is impossible.
Treated very poorly again after giving this place a second chance. I was waiting for over 12hrs with very little help and even some of the nurses made snide comments regarding my visit. Will never return to any DMHC hospitals again.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
