List of Ajay Koshy Md's Reviews
I have been a patient of Dr. Koshy for many years and would like to reestablish a relationship with him.
Been seeing Dr Koshi for close to 15 years. Always takes the time to talk and doesn’t rush you out of the office like other doctors I’ve seen. Very thorough. Great guy.
We began seeing dr koshy when I wasn't getting help for my son at his first Dr. He had horrible sleeping trouble. Dr koshy said very casually to give him melatonin. I didn't want to just give him some. He said just give him some and keep upping it until it works, it's natural so no big deal. I should've left that day. Staring changed it lives. Here is my review. I asked Dr koshy for an allergy test for my son who at the time was 5. He had hives and itching, Redness around the month when eating ranch dressing. I was told "just give him some Zyrtec, that's what I give my daughter." I refused this suggestions wanting an explanation. He put a recommendation in to see an allergist and recommend a flu shot. There was a problem with our insurance so we didn't end up getting the allergy test before the flu shot appointment. During that appointment I brought that up he said we would find out what happened and have him the flu shot anyway. Knowing he is having an allergic reaction of some kind. He broke out in hives on the spot and his response was again "just give him some Zyrtec." I didn't not accept this answer again. Once we got to the allergy Dr. She explained he has an egg allergy and should have never received the flu shot. When he got the shot his body begin to over produce a protein that releases into his body when he is warm. (when he cries, runs, gets cozy in his blankets) the protein attacks the histamine in his body causing internal bug bites the size of my palm. I'm sure you can imagine the impact this had on his tiny body. Extreme exhaustion, constant crying causing further hives sleepless nights. Due to this allergic reaction my son missed 3-4 days of school for his entire first year. He is now on an allergy shot for this once a month costing 240$ a month. A year later when my son had been having trouble in school ( because of having missed a whole year) I brought him back to"Dr" koshy for evaluation. His response was that he didn't know about it and would have to send us somewhere else. We waited for that appointment with him for a month and my son had to be there missing yet another day of school. He could've told me this over the phone, also costing me a copay. While at this appointment I brought up that I was upset about all of these things he said"sounds like you need a new Dr." I of course agreed to that. When I tried to talk to him about the past year and how we now need help because of that he said "I gave you the recommendation to the allergist?" I said yes. He said "well then I covered my ass then." All this was in front of my now 6 year old son who said are you two fighting. I explained that we were not and that we were done here. Upon leaving I had tears in my eyes as the receptionist whom knows us by name having answered countless calls over the year gave us recommendations and resources through the city. The Dr was going to give us costly private options that once again he brought his daughter too. He has been fired by my family! I do want to say that the nursing team there was an extension of our family that year, several times calling when I haven't called them just to check on my boy. Leaving them was heart breaking for sure. I do not recommend using this Dr. He never gave us information based on facts. Constantly comparing my son to his daughter when I want his needs met by facts and experience. This is not the case. His bedside manner is a joke and in my opinion he shouldn't be making decisions for families.
I've been a patient of Dr. Koshy for years. He refuses to acknowledge benzodiazepine withdrawal syndrome. I suffer from post acute benzodiazepine withdrawal syndrome and he would not provide me with a medical cannabis card. Just more poisonous pharmaceuticals. When I was very very sick with seizures from the withdrawal, he would not even see me. The office sent me to the emergency room and that was the worst thing you could've ever done.
One of the best primary care doctors. Very positive and trustworthy
After trying a few doctors in the area I finally found Dr Koshy and I have been going to him for about 10 years now. He listens and is very knowledgeable and thorough. He's polite and gives me all the time I need to get my questions answered. His assistant Vonda is the same way. She made me very comfortable and explained the answers to all my questions as many times as I needed. The only issue I've ever had is getting the staff to call me with lab results. They say they will call but I usually have to call them a few times to get the results. A small price to pay for what is otherwise great service and care.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
