List of Ana Gabriela Lizama's Reviews
My experience with this doctor was terrible. I didn’t care for her on my first visit therefore I should have chosen another physician after that. Because I had a TIA I was told by the hospital to see a Neurologist. The hospital sent all my records up to Dr. Lizama and she hadn’t looked at them previously therefore she quickly and I mean quickly scanned through them. She blamed her staff for not getting the records for her before my appointment. She hadn’t a clue as to why I was there. She kept telling me to see my PC!! She in not so many words asked me to be quiet (after being asked a question) because she couldn’t listen to me and glance at my records at the same time. In a sour tone she complained that there had to be fifty pages of records and tests to go through. I was there for her so called expertise, what a joke. It was a wasted visit for my husband and I. She hurriedly did a few reflex tests barking out orders so fast I couldn’t keep up. She is very condescending and has a superior attitude and is very cold. She couldn’t wait to get this so called visit over with. In three visits I never saw the trace of a smile which wouldn’t have bothered me if she had done her job. I get the impression that she’s sorry she made the choice to become a doctor. To sum things up I wouldn’t send my dog to this so called Neurologist. Leslie Batts
Dr. L is extremely thorough and a very good neurologist. She listens well and explains next steps. In my case she’s treating migraine headaches that I have had for 30 plus years. Migraines have improved to a point where I know longer get headaches when symptoms come on.
Dr Lizama replaced Dr Black as my neurologist.
She is too quick, extremely rude and unsympathetic towards her patient. She’s not reassuring but rather makes you feel anxious and unsettled. She also scolds you if you have to reschedule an appointment etc. Unfortunately in life schedules change and appointments need to be rescheduled especially when they are made months in advance. We all do not have consistency in our schedules. I would not recommend her to anyone seeking neurological advice. She does not say hello or try to see you as a person or even get to know you. She has no idea who I am nor did she care to listen to my feedback. I’m extremely unhappy with her.
Dr. Lizama is blessing to me! I came to her for hemifacial spasms of motor nerves. During a whole-body exam, she found undiagnosed neuropathy of my toes also. With precisely dosed & placed facial injections every 3 mos, I see better, feel more normal. Pain ointment for my feet has brought an amazing end to the worst of the severe, crippling pain awakening me in the middle of the night. I can now sleep most of the time. She is caring, skilled, professional.
After reading the reviews by other patients they adequately expressed my sentiments. Not friendly and not able to communicate with her. Seemed uninterested and just putting in her time. No compassion. Could not hear her even after I let her know I had a hearing problem. Came away feeling hopeless. Looking for another doctor in the area. Does anyone have a suggestion.
Competent but not friendly. No conversation. Just technical explanations. Uncomfortable visit.
My mom suffers from Alzheimers/Dimentia. Dr Lizama was the only neurologist avail in Grass Valley because the others are not taking new patients. Dr Lizama prescribed a medication that I requested since she had zero other recommendation for my mom other than meds that are common to this disease. Too be honest she seemed un-interested in my mom and never took a personal interest in her from day one. She had no caring or empathetic tone at all. She was stoic and ignored most of my comments while trying to explain my moms issues. The med called Seroguel which I discovered online has worked very well. After 4 weeks of mom doing really well on the Seroquel Dr Lizama refused to call in another prescription for my mom until we went in for another appointment which was scheduled 2 weeks later. Although I called several times begging for her to at least give mom enough of the med until we came in for another Drs appt, Dr Lizama refused to speak to me or renew the prescription. After a week of watching my mom suffer from horrible withdrawals and psychotic episodes coupled with sever depression I took my mom to another Doctor. I left the new Doctors office that day with the medicine and mom instantly was relieved from her suffering. Why wouldn't Lizama give my mom relief from her suffering until I could get her in for an appointment? I think thats cruel. Very cruel. We will never go back to her!
The doctor is not friendly, Never smiles or seems happy, Competent but sadly lacking in a comforting attitude, She need to make her patients feel that she is happy to see them and make them at ease.
Dr. Lizama has been treating me for Cronic Migraines and several forms of Dystonia for a couple years now and has been able to help me in ways no other Neurologist ever has. She is extremely good at what she does and has always been kind and curtious and so has her staff. I would recommend her to anyone needing a Neurologist.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
