I see many good reviews with Dr lawless ....I wish I could do the same. I'm a 47 year old female who needs a total knee replacement.....this is the 3rd orthopedic surgeon I've gone to.....in the first visit it's very encouraging lose weight quit smoking and we will do the surgery.. I have managed to lose weight and have 10lbs left... I don't find this to be a big deal........people I know are heavier and get the survey ... I now have a torn meniscus......my primary ordered a mri. Dr lawless was not to happy when he found this out and expressed his feelings about this find to me........also his receptionist is rude! So now I have a torn meniscus and I need a total knee replacement no one will do the surgery because I'm to young.....I can't wait until I'm eligible for a knee replacement I'm in constant pain on a cane and has effected my daily living...... they state that if your condition effects your daily living and you qualify surgery will be done. Not in my case... my other knee is also being affected by my condition.......so am I suppose to suffer until I'm knee replacement eligible....... two orthopedic surgeons have done this. Yes we will do the survey follow protcol and it will be done... we'll I have followed protocol and surgery isn't being done.... concord orthopedic said the exact same thing.........
Dr. Lawless is a gifted surgeon. I felt comfortable the first time I met him. He’s endlessly patient with questions and made sure I fully understood what my issue was. When I scheduled my surgery for my right hip replacement, I was given tons of information. Everything was orchestrated to make sure I was informed about what it would be like. His tenure at the Elliot hospital made everything go smoothly. Surgery day, he came in say hello and to check on me. I got my spinal and the next thing I know, I was in a private wing in the joint unit. Up and walking with assistance day one, next day did stairs with a walker and then went home. A week with the walker and I switched to a cane. At my 6-week follow up, I twirled around in his office to show him my progress. I’m seeing him again next month for my left hip and I have no anxiety at all. His knowledge and skill changed my life. Thanks, Doc!
Dr Lawless is Awesome. He replaced both my Hips 5-years ago and I have have no issues since. Fast recovery and felt a huge difference in reduced pain immediately. Dr Lawless is the one to use if getting this done.
Dismissive. Used weight as an excuse to Look for meaningful resolutions despite being overweight himself. Couldn't be bothered to review records before visit or read notes from the referring physician in the SAME PRACTICE. Drew wildly different conclusions from the surgeon that referred me to him in a matter of seconds and did his best to hurry me out the door to enjoy his holiday weekend. Grossly miacharacterized outer visit in his appointment notes as well. I do not recommend him or the practice that employs him.
He was unprepared, rushed, and dismissive. Drew wildly different conclusions from both the referring physician from the same office and the MRI report. No communication between providers and his condescension made the appointment a waste of time, gas, and insurance money.
I was referred from inside the office by Dr. Mack. Neither surgeon spoke and both had wildly different opinions and conclusions. None of which are beneficial to me, the person suffering. Two surgeons were paid, wasted my time, and offered no relief. I do not recommend this surgeon or practice.
Unprepared, dismissive, and rushed. Did not bother to review records prior to visit. Mischaracterized the discussion in his own notes. Ignored the concerns of the referring physician that practices in the SAME office in addition to drawing wildly different and dismissive conclusions to the two previous physicians about the same MRI. He clearly cared more about his holiday weekend than my quality of life. I do not recommend him at all.
Dr Lawless is the best doctor. He performed my hip replacement. Not only is he a great surgeon, he is a great person as well. He gave me my life back.
Highly technical surgeon with an engaging, caring bedside manner.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
