Lorena Do Ponte's Online Review Report Card

The WORST Dr. I have ever seen. Find someone else. She was rude and invalidating. She kept rolling her eyes and laughing at me when I was trying to explain my symptoms. She blew off all of my concerns and refused to listen to anything I had to say. I am not sure why she is even still employed.

Would not recommend! Seen over two years. Decided to change, as we do not see eye to eye. Her opinion is what goes and she will not expand her thinking. She lacks bedside manners and communication is horrible especially since you have to go through the nurses who guard her. Just very poor experiences

She thinks she automatically knows the answer and will not listen to other alternatives. Not an out of the box thinker. Test for standard and will not accept if it is not related to weight or blood pressure or other common problems. Even if tests show something, she claims it is a false positive. Communication is rushed and very poor outside the office you need to get through guard dogs (nurses).

Edited 9/14/21I've since decided to seek out a new primary physician as my most recent to Dr. Do Ponte was significantly less than expected from past visits. As I began to describe symptoms that had begun a year prior, but had dissipated over time, she cut me off before I could finish, told me that because my symptoms only happened in the evenings that it must be anxiety, and prescribed an anti-depressant. When I requested a second opinion from a psychiatrist before starting it, she blew off my concerns and told me the medication "wouldn't have side effects."The main difference between this experience and the years prior is that in previous visits, I had written out my health concerns for her to read instead of speaking out loud about them, so there was no opportunity for her to interrupt.I don't think she's a bad doctor, but maybe consider a different primary physician if you have chronic health concerns.Original review below:Dr. Do Ponte has been an absolute gem! I've been seeing her regularly for several years. We moved from another state in 2016, and the first doctor I saw (from another practice) for my annual checkup was awful. Dr. Do Ponte was my choice to try for the next year, and I've stuck with her ever since.She took the time to listen to my concerns, trusted me to know my own body, and discussed any necessary treatment options with me in-depth. I've never felt rushed, belittled, or dismissed by her.As I've spent time recovering from post-viral symptoms due to COVID over the past year, I've also been in somewhat regular communication with her office via the online email system or phone calls in to the nurse, and she's been very responsive and helpful.Highly recommended!

Dr. Do Ponte is the BEST! I am in the best health because of her great care. She always listens to my concerns and I've never felt rushed. She is caring and I'm so thrilled to have found her. I love that she will be my Dr. during my old age. I'm so grateful for her and Arlene!! Thank you for caring so much for your patients!!!

Dr Do Ponte answered all my questions and my appointment was not rushed. Hers answers were both informative and reassuring. She is kind, thoughtful and patient. I highly recommend Dr Do Ponte.

Dr. Do Ponte did a great job every visit I had with her. She explained everything to me very well with details and it was very easy to understand. She is very kind, I felt safe and comfortable, but at the same time she is very professional, she really helped me a lot. I highly recommend becoming her patient!

I'm not a big fan of going to the doctor and I'm always super scared and anxious about it, however Dr Lorena made me had a great experience as a first timer, I felt that she really cared and made me feel confortable, she really took his time to explain me everything, I followed the treatment and her advises, I had a great visit with her!

I have had nothing but hands down the best care from Dr. DoPonte since she has been assigned as my PCP which was when she first got to this location. She takes everything into consideration when I explain my concerns. She doesn’t forget anything we’ve discussed before even if I don’t see her for almost a year. Anything I’ve ever needed help with she has helped me through. I would recommend her to any one of my friends and family. 120% the best doctor I’ve ever had. Thank you for all that you do for me DoPonte!!! You’re the best!!! I read the 2 bad reviews she has and there is absolutely NO WAY I could see those being valid experiences. They must just be mad because they didn’t get what they wanted from her... we ARE in Manchester NH... People have bad habits around here.... just saying.

This doctor is AWFUL. I have issues with the whole Dartmouth-Hitchcock system, and Dr. Do Ponte is just the cherry on top. Their policy is to get RX refills 1-3 days after receiving the request. I've been using Walgreens for decades with no issues, however DH has managed to lose requests multiple times. Dr. Do Ponte has also sent the RX to the wrong Walgreens location, and continuously writes the WRONG prescription (I've had to pay out of pocket multiple times because I needed insulin at that moment, and my insurance didn't cover the RX she sent in). I only saw her once, but the appointment was rushed and she didn't address any of my concerns at the time. I do not recommend this doctor, she is nice, but she seems pompous (she was disgusted by the fact my former doctor wrote her notes by hand...even though she was leagues better than Dr. Do Ponte) and honestly in it for the money. Dartmouth-Hitchcock is the exact same way, they rush appointments through, they over book, they loose important documents, and they are usually booking 3-4 months out.EDIT: She is refusing to fill a new prescription despite being aware that my health insurance had changed and I moved. I'm waiting to see a new doctor, but the liason I spoke to at DHC was hounding me and telling me I wasn't doing my due diligence to find a new doctor- which is absurd because I'm trying everything in my power to not have to deal with these people any more! Dr. Do Ponte was surprised when I first saw her that my doctor didn't want to refill my prescription because I hadn't seen her in over a year, but here she is doing the same exact thing. She clearly does not actually know who I am, as I have had to repeat the same thing dozens of times as to what my situation is.
