List of Ellie Chuang's Reviews
Doesn’t explain test results. You have to figure out what they mean on your own. Doesn’t explain the different medication’s side effects or different med options, just prescribes. Not really interested in the actual patient just getting in and out of the appointment and making sure you get charged even if you just have a “question “. Felt rushed, anxious and not well informed. Just find someone better.
I've been a patient of Dr. Chuang for many years. I actually had to find a new provider only because I moved out of state. Dr. Chuang is firm and has high expectations, but she's pretty down to earth and is serious about helping T1D patients get on track with their numbers. She was hard on me, but tbh, i needed it.
I changed to Dr. Chuang after years of traveling to Boston for my Diabetes care. She and her PA Ryan Garso are a breath of fresh air. They are very attentive to my concerns and health problems and show they have the latest knowledge and information to treat my complicated health issues. Both Dr. Chuang and Ryan are pleasant to talk to, determined to help me with maintaining my diabetes and always looking at new medications and procedures to help treat my conditions. I have follow up appointments three months with Ryan and the following three months with Dr. Chuang. I have never had a problem getting follow up appointments. If I call with a problem or a question, they return the call in a very timely manner and always listen to my question with concern. I am extremely pleased with both of them and would recommend them highly
My bloodwork was inconclusive but dr. Chuang figured it out and got my fatigue and digestive problems under control.
Very difficult to communicate with provider, and appointments are months from when you need to see her. The office often doesn’t pick up the phone when trying to call for appointment. Call backs (if you get one)from the nurse lack correct information. They forgot to send lab orders needed before MRI. Poor/lack of follow up forces me to look for another provider.
Dr.Chuang told me that I needed to lose weight, and that most likely that was what was causing me my symptoms. I have Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. I gain weight, lose hair, etc...BECAUSE of the Hashimotos. I suggested a medication switch..which she did not do. She also didn’t: schedule labs, schedule a follow-up, which is standard thyroid protocol. What she did: gave me the paperwork to sign up for a weight loss “class” held at the office, cost to me?: $100.00. Ridiculous.
I have been a diabetic for over 20 years. I began seeing Dr. Chuang and her P.A. Ryan Garso about 5 years ago. Both Dr. Chuang and Mr. Garso are personable, extremely knowledgeable and caring. They carefully monitor my blood sugars and always check for complications common to diabetics. I actually look forward to my visits with them.
I'm really fond of Dr Chuang, but getting an appointment is always a hassle and her support staff are sometimes rude and dismissive of any concerns or problems. Her staff used to be top-notch, but there's been a noticeable decline over the past two years and that is why I stopped seeing her recently.
She lied to me about what she could do to assist me with my weight loss efforts. She did not follow up after our appointment as she insisted she would do. She was supposed to order my bloodwork results and did not. After waiting 5 months for help, I walked out of her office with absolutely nothing, not even a referral. During my visit, I became overwhelmed with tears because the receptionist assured me, this doctor would be able to help me. I was so excited for my appointment and left devastated
Dr always takes time to listen and give helpful choices.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
