List of Philip Savia's Reviews
Today was my first appointment with Dr. Savia. He was very thorough , asked a lot of questions after reviewing my history. I was impressed with his research before our meeting, the questions during the meeting and his recommendations for follow up tests. He also called me at home after my appointment with some additional thoughts. Great experience !
Unfortunately, one of the worst Dr i have ever seen. Aside from being unable or unwilling to help me, he was rude, unprofessional.
Had sharp, stabbing headaches on my left side of head for one year plus-a 10+-was being treated at Pain Care in Plymouth and suggested I see DR. Savia who ordered numerous blood work-CAT Scan-next Monday and a MRI on Wednesday-noon time-and he called me personally with the result and precautions a few hours later-Very pleasant and thorough-Everyone involved was very professional and caring.
Dr.Savia is extremely rude I have Chiari Malformation which causes severe migraines , numbness in my hands and feet. He told me I was psychotic needed to see a psychiatrist and was one of the local people high on pain killers. I have never ever done drugs in my life and hate taking anything so I will never ever go back to this jerk. His staff is also extremely rude as well
My wife had been to two other neurologists who barely did any tests and just kept giving her medications. They said it was stress and that she didn't really need any tests done. We made and appointment with Dr. Savia ran a whole bunch of tests and found out what was causing her to pass out a lot. He sent us to a surgeon to open up some blood vessels and no my wife is much better. His nurse was also very nice and spent a lot of with us. He even called to make sure the surgery went ok. He is a great doctor.
Dr. Savia saved my husbands life. After having a seizure on a Saturday, Dr. Savia fit him into a very full Monday schedule, skipping his lunch and was quick to diagnose a brain illness that took 10 days for a confirmation test. Dr. Savia started antibiotics that ultimately saved his life. With an 20% survival rate for this particular illness waiting for a confirmation would have been deadly. I appreciated his no-nonsense approach, his honesty and his willingness to trust his knowledge and judgment. I would highly recommend Dr. Savia!
I had been seeing a doctor in the same clinic for a long time and I was not getting any better. After being treated by him for a few months I am way better. My other doctor was just giving me pills and not listening. He ordered some tests that the other doctor would not do, and found out exactly how to treat me. Dr. Savia is a good listener and I can't thank him enough. I just read some of the reviews below, and it sounds like either people don't want to pay for their health or they want the drugs that I was getting. If you want drugs, go to my old doctor.
After years of many doctors Dr. Savia was the only one who took the time to figure out why I was having headaches. After seeing him 3 times he was able to figure out the right medications and I have not had any headaches. Thank you Dr. Savia!
My husband suffers from Hemi-Plegic Migraines and we were very hopeful Dr. Savia could help us. He did not. He ordered a huge number of tests. In fact, he wanted us to run a genetic test that he was very expensive (almost $1000). He admitted that he was aware it would not be covered under insurance. He seemed very irritated that we did not order the test. After several appointments and many tests, he simply told my husband that the headaches are caused by his bi-polar disorder and he would have to see a psychiatrist. Dr. Savia was rude, uncaring and arrogant. I WOULD NOT recommend him to anyone.
I was referred to him by my OB-GYN as I am 6 months pregnant and have migraines. It was probably the worst experience I've ever had.He spent his entire time sitting on the computer typing while he asked me very short, rude questions. He interrupted me several times and I ended up having to repeat myself over and over because he appeared to not be listening. He criticized every medication I was on (all being monitored by my OB) and was basically giving me medical direction outside of his realm of practice (i.e. obstetrics, cardiology, etc). He made me feel like I was doing something wrong by taking the medications I am on. He was unwilling to listen to anything I really had to say. The actual physical exam took less than 5 minutes. At the end of the extremely lengthy and uncomfortable visit, he informed me that he was leaving the state and would give me a list of other neurologists to see after he left but not many would be willing to help me while I'm pregnant.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
