I went to see Dr. Scherer after an ER visit and a referral from my GP. I cannot recommend him enough!! I was through-the-roof anxious before getting to the appointment and he picked up on it immediately. He was extremely personable, easy to talk to, and listened to my concerns. He was the first doctor I had seen with my issue that I felt actually took me seriously, and he was the only one to figure out the actual issue. He broke down everything he did so it was easy for me to understand, explained why he prescribed what he did, sent me home with papers and references to outside resources so I could do research for my own piece of mind. When I was still super anxious in leaving the office he offered to move my next appointment to telehealth so I wouldn't be as nervous to have my follow up.

Im sad to see him go to southern NH medical as ive been a patient of datmouth for years... Hes a great gastroenterologist who will be missed!!

Dr. Scherer performed endo and colonoscopies on me twice, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Clinic. He was stellar on both occasions. He would spend time with me before and after the procedures, to make sure I felt comfortable going into the operating room and that I was alright after recuperating from the anesthesia. He is soft-spoken and has impeccable bedside manners. I just had another endo/colonoscopy, different city, different doctor. Oh, how I wished I was back at Dartmouth, in the care of doctor Scherer! If you are looking for a great doctor for your procedure(s), Dr. Scherer is the one. You will be glad to wake up to those beautiful eyes and smile of his.

Office poor followup, callbacks nonexistent, multiple calls for Rx NEVER filled in timely manner (forget about ‘in 48hrs’), Dr Scherer wonderful, office very disappointing.

Dr Schwartz has an exceptional bedside manner. I never felt rushed, he answered all my questions and alleviated any concerns. He made me feel as though I was his only patient for the day. How refreshing!

During 5 procedures over the last 15 years or so, Dr. Scherer has always been very accessible, patient, a good listener, and generous with sharing information and making me feel comfortable.

Dr Scherer was my GI doctor before I moved out of state 3 years ago. I would give anything to be able to have him as my doctor again. He always took the time to listen. Never once did I leave his office and feel like he hadn't addressed my concerns. He is a terrific doctor!!

Dr. Scherer knows what he is doing! He is my specialist and I trust him with my life. He is a dedicated doctor and I rate him Excellent! I also know other patients of his and they feel the same as I. I rate him as number 1. I would not change doctors because there is no one better! When you are great you have to wait to get an appointment! I'm on his list and will stay there.
