List of Tung Nguyen's Reviews
Did not do what was expected in surgery. He decided to do only half . Causing me more pain & another surgery but Not with him. Plus he never came to see me after the surgery even while I was admitted. What was worse I found out 6 months after surgery due to extreme pain. Lost all faith.
Great neurosurgeon, he has done a couple surgeries on my husband over previous years and I had my first fusion with Dr. Nguyen a few months ago. After two plus years of pain and discomfort, I can say I am so thankful I had the surgery. The staff has been so helpful dealing with everything from insurance administrative issues and scheduling. I would highly recommend this facility, Dr. Nguyen and his team.
Excellent neurosurgeon has done numerous surgeries on me that Have helped me tremendously would recommend him to anybody very caring and compassionate surgeon takes time to explain things thoroughly to make you understand
Dr. Nguyen is a skilled surgeon but He does not admit if the surgery is a failure. I fit all the criteria. I have had a failed fusion for some months and have been in extreme torture but that was not acknowledged by him but instead by other experts, and basically I was told just to go elsewhere by Jennifer The supervisor. Bottom line is I was eventually referred by another surgeon at Brigham’s Yi Lu who claimed not to know Nguyen, which is impossible because it’s such a small network up here and this guy gets a lot of referrals, if you get my drift. Not only did he not examine me he just repeated verbatim what Nguyen had already said even though it is not accurate information. Why give someone a referral to someone who is going to back you? Ethically don’t you want to know if something could be done to relieve the patients suffering? When there is nerve damage going on in the arms from the neck fusion and constant choking -like I have, they do indeed do something. They never just tell you that’s how it is and nothing can be done. So I have to go out of New England to get honest ethical care because these boys all stick together as far as we can tell. (Dr. Nguyen knew that I had this referral even though I did not tell him and the systems together do not talk. So something is definitely not right). My advice is that net fusions are considered archaic by other countries and some doctors here. The best way to go is artificial disc find somebody that will work with you. This guy says they are not FDA approved, but they are in other countries and they have a 95% rate, but fusions on the other hand tend to have lifetime of issues and create more issues. I wish I had been told about alternatives
In 2005 Dr. NGUYEN operated on my husband who had a stroke knowing he had no medical insurance. It was a rough surgery after a complication and we had no clue what disabilities he would have. Happy to say he can walk for 15 min, short term memory is affected, but he is doing well. Thank you. You saved his life! Dad of 5 and Grand dad to 4.
I had surgery June 2016 and I have had no pain since. It was a disc replacement between C6-7. Great doctor takes the time to make sure you understand everything and feel comfortable with the procedure. Highly recommended.
I've had two surgeries (back & neck) by Dr. Nguyen and I couldn't have picked a better doctor for it. I'm not in the pain I was in before the surgeries. Recommended Highly!
I have a vp shunt which Ive had since I was young and have had many brain surgeries. After moving to NH Ive been through a few doctors and 1 bad surgery, which left me with very little eye sight, not able to walk without help or eat without throwing up. I feel that Dr. Nuygen saved my life, Im a normal 34 year old now. I feel Dr. Nuygen will not do surgery unless he knows its defiantly needed ( as for surgery is always a risk). He listens to you and treats you and your family as if they were his own. He made my husband as comfortable as you can be with your wife going through also brain surgeries in one year. Also I had a stomach surgery with my doctor who is from a different town and because my gyno felt uncomfortable with how many tubes I had in my stomach coming from my head she consulted Dr. Nyugen and he made him self avaible so he could be on the phone at any point during the surgery, he also offered to take time out of his day and come to hospital he doesnt work at and be there if they needed to to talk him, or if I needed to be taken to SNH. I totally recommend him and his staff, they all made me feel less worried throw a tuff time.
He did one surgery on lumbar spine and it went very well, he is an excellent surgeon. Unfortunately still had a problem, he never took it or me seriously, he disagreed with radiologist regarding results from thoracic MRI. Sought help from other doctors and have now learned I have a mass in thoracic region compressing spinal cord. Preping for more surgery with new doctors.
Would not trust another dr to operate on my spine

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
