List of George R Kousaie's Reviews
Happy we found him.
My PCP recently moved and so I chose Dr. Kousaie as my new Dr. My last Dr. was charming and talkative. We had interesting conversations about subjects only tangentially related to my health. That said I often left feeling like the appointment was not very useful. Dr. Kousaie is not that Dr. He keeps extremely detailed notes. At one point I was concerned about a clicking I developed in my jaw and forced the sound from my jaw several times until he said sternly "stop doing that!", which tracks with what others have said about his personality. I smile when thinking about that. If you have ever seen the show "Monk" an appointment with Dr. Kousaie kind of feels like an appointment with Monk, which to me seems like a good thing. If something needs a longer explanation he is more than willing to spend the time needed but if you bring up something he does not agree with he may dismiss it in a way that feels rude. I will continue to see Dr. Kousaie and am confident in his abilities.
I previously was a patient of his in Maine! He is one of the most caring and compassionate dr i’ve ever met. He really helped my wife as she cared for our terminally ill daughter and after she passed kept his heart open and listened to her and helped her in the grieving process.
My excellent relationship with my former PCP for over 25 years ended because he retired, and I needed to find a new PCP. After three appointments with Dr. Kousaie I have decided to move on again and continue my search for a PCP whom I feel that I can trust and communicate with as well as I am used to. Dr. Kousaie may be the right PCP for some patients, but not me. I personally found him to be very rigid and arrogant, and condescending in his speech. He does not trust that in some respects I may know my body better than he does. Rather than let me speak he would cut me off and choose a topic to lecture me on and in my opinion this wasted much of our time together. I would feel like a hostage and I couldn't wait to get out of his office after each visit. He is also very dependent on specialists, which means mounting copays, possibly because despite his arrogance I don't believe that he even trusts his own competence.
Excellent Compassionate and Caring
Worst primary care experience I've ever had. My provider left the Dover practice, I was 'transferred' to the newly opened Pease Primary Care practice to see Kousaie. He immediately questioned the medications my previous provider had prescribed for year, in a very accusatory manner - to which I asked if he was suggesting I had done something wrong by following his cohorts medical advice. He backtracked and filled the medications but I never went back. He has a condescending demeanor. It's not wonder patients are reassigned to his care as I'm sure many would not willingly see him. Avoid his care and seek Dr. Decker or another provider.
Dr. Kousaie is an excellent provider. He does take the time with his patients and speaks to you in a caring professional manner. If you are a difficult patient he is the type to hold you accountable for your care. If your looking for someone to hold your hand and stroke your ego it may not be a good fit.
Dr Kousaie was knowledgeable, caring and thorough in his care foe me for the past two years.
this is not a man who wants to give care to public.. wants someting else,
This. Is possibly the worst primary Dr. I've seen no regard for pain don't ever go for that cares only about his laptop and foundles it?. Low knowledge and thinks he is above it all, pompous is the word. But of what maybe he's a good cook. Don't give away time $ or your life go elsewhere.this guy's very odd like you don't want to find out scary creepy.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
