List of John M. O'day's Reviews
The five stars are for Dr. O'Day only. He has been my ENT for decades. He restored my hearing from a surgery I had when I was a child. He fixed my deviated septum. I have issues with mastoiditis from childhood. Everytime there is an occurrence and he sees me immediately to get me on a treatment. Everytime I see him I tell him he can't retire because I don't trust anyone else with my ears! His office staff unfortunately do not match his rating. I wish that would change.
My association with Dr O'Day began about 25 years ago. Since then he has treated me for chronic sinus problems. He has performed surgery on me 3 times. In my opinion there is not a better ENT surgeon anywhere in the seacoast area. It wouldn't surprise me if he was one of the best if not THE best in NH. Over the years I have visited and been treated at Wentworth Douglas Hospital WDH in Dover many times. Without exception many if not all nurses have told me they feel Dr O'Day is one of the best surgeons they have ever worked with. He is personable and it's obvious he cares about his patients. There is one thing I wish I could change. I wish he could be my Primary Care Physician for all my ailments.
Dr. O'Day is the man, total rock star, I would never go to anyone else for my ENT needs. However, I'm going to copy/paste from the another person's review, because they absolutely summed it up. "Dr. O’Day is one of the best around. Great guy and he knows his medicine. The staff, however, makes it difficult to give any higher than a 3 star. They can be very rude on the phone and if you need to get a message to Dr. O’Day, they make you leave a message for a nurse, and they NEVER call you back. Ever"
Dr John O'Day was treating my mother in 1977. She was suffering from an inner ear infection. While under Dr O'Days care, in his Dover, NH office, her inner ear infection progressed into mastoiditis. Germaine Labbe Davis, died of mastoiditis in 1977. I was and still am broken hearted by this unnecessary loss of my Mother's life. She suffered terribly in the last few months of her life.
With all the complaints on Google directly relating to office staff and not the doctors themselves I would think the staff would get better customer service skills. I was recommended this office and talked with a secretary and she was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Thankfully I got another recommendation for a different office and they were a delight on the phone. Above and beyond how you'd expect to be treated. Shouldn't hang up on a possible patient to the people who pay your bills.
Dr. Johnson is kind and skilled. He was very good with my anxiety.
Dr O'Day let my mother Germaine Davis die in 1977. She died of an ear infection that went into mastoiditis. She was being treated by Dr O'Day at the time, an ENT physician, who allowed a simple ear infection to progress to mastoidiits.... Sincerely ....Lindsay Davis
doctors are pleasant, nurses are sweet, secretary can sometimes be rude
I have no idea what king of ENT specialistDr. O’Day might be but his staff is horrible. Nearly every call goes to voice mail and the calls are not returned. Don’t waste your time trying to get an appointment here.
I've been to Dr. O'Day twice with my teenage daughter and have found him to be wonderfully warm, knowledgable, and respectful. My daughter also really likes him, and totally relaxes around him. Our visit was not rushed in any way, and he explained, questioned, and listened very respectfully and responsibly. I appreciate his wisdom and candid nature; his level of experience really helps when considering an upcoming tonsillectomy. The testing he recommended showed results that were significant - not a waste of time. I will say that I have good health insurance, and don't have to worry about the bill. Only good things to say so far.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
