First visit he informed me that he does not believe I have the allergies I do because and I quote " women exaggerate". Even after showing him paper proof from MGH , he still made comments. After passing my kidney stone and having an x-ray proof. He still wanted to operate on me cause he " didnt believe the xray". He was going to do a procedure with 2 medicines/ chemicals I am severely allergic to! The nurse said that at least one of those wasnt even a part of the surgery! Yet he was going to use it anyway. I could go on cause there is so much more! I felt very unsafe there and will never go back! This man should not even be a doctor!

After having a stent placed - post holmans laser lithotripsy. I was in severe pain - threw up 5 hours post op at home- no anti nausea meds. Informed him of the situation only to be told- You’re a nurse deal with it!!!! Who says that to a patient? Asked have you ever had a uretal stent - he said no but I’ve placed plenty. I guess he missed the part that 1/100 patients experience excruciating pain with these stents. Very rude. Not to mention the surgery was unsuccessful. Go ANYWHERE but this office!! Especially if you really want to get better. The nurses made it very clear they never read the charts- just make assumptions. Told to myself and my husband.

Dr. Ferholz was thorough in explaining the results of my kidney stone treatment and the possibility of recurrence. He showed us the recent X-ray, then he went over the the lab results from my recent stone analysis. He determined that routine x-rays to monitor my situation were no longer needed and would reduce my exposure to unneeded radiation. I am always impressed with the time he takes to explain the medical issues completely and it terms that a patient can understand.

Read records before visit, very thorough examination and tests ordered, thorough and comprehensive explanation of options for treating side effects of previous cancer treatments, excellent recommendations.

Not only highly skilled, but also an outstanding communicator. He returns calls and mixes frankness, humor and empathy in a manner that is most reassuring. Consider yourself very fortunate if he accepts you as a patient. I continue to see him even though I now live 75 minutes away and am surrounded by good Docors in Dover.
