Stephen Fleet's Online Review Report Card

He is my mother's pcp. My mother is aging with health issues He absolutely refuses to communicate with myself and my aunt. We are both durable power of attorney's. He claims that he does not need to talk to us or listen to us regarding concerns we have of my mothers well being who lives alone. We have been fighting for months to get on the same page as to what is happening. I will be contacting aps (adult protective services) and we are also envolving an attorney at this point and discussing the possibility of finding a new pcp! This is the life of my mother not a pharmaceutical guinea pig.

I met Dr. Fleet several years ago in an emergency, when my doctor wasn't available. It wasn't long before I was in ICU and a critical problem solved over the next few days.

Dr. Fleet was my uncle's primary care physician. When he was in the end stage of liver failure and needed hospice care in his home, a signature from his PCP was required to get hospice to come to his house. It took a week to get a signature from Dr. Fleet; we didn't hear anything regarding our request for days and considered approaching another doctor! It was hair-raising. The rehab facility was threatening to keep him there to the tune of $400 a day when medicare ran out and we were very close to that point when we were trying to get Dr. Fleet's signature so we could bring my uncle home to die in peace with his loved ones around him as he wished. Don't let something like this happen to you! If you are in poor health, find someone more responsive.

He was mostly polite, but he said a strange thing, "I like to say Ossissipee." I didn't know what to do with that. I told him twice that the allergy medicines he was recommending had not helped me. He didn't say anything about my having extra trouble breathing when I lay down. He seemed to think that ghrelin is bad for people with high blood pressure. He said that my obviously swollen ankle was not swollen. He seemed to ignore me when I said that my left foot had been swollen about a month befor

I have been a patient of Dr. Fleet for 16 years - and feel lucky to have a professional, attentive and intelligent physician to follow my routine and comprehensive health profile - He is an excellent physician- and attentive to all details - with sound judgement.

He has been my primary care doctor for fourteen years. I find him to be very capable and will refer you to another doctor if he feels the other doctor can better find what my problem is.

My elderly mother has had a friendly relationship with Dr Fleet for several years. But it appears as she grows older and needs more care for her serious health issues, he has become less friendly towards her. He peaks to her with terminology and explanations she doesn't understand. She is shy and has a poor memory. She's embarrassed to ask him questions. When I asked her how the last few appts had gone with Dr. Fleet she stated "He blows me off now, I'm too much of a bother". This comes from a very kind and giving person that everyone loves and respects. Her health issues have caused her physical pain for many years. she asks for Dr. Fleet's help only when the discomfort is at its worse. She wants a caring and friendly dr. who will take a moment from his busy life to greet her with a smile, put a hand on her shoulder and reassure her he will take care of her. Apparently Dr. Fleet has lost those unique features to do so with her anymore....I'm hoping my mom will choose another dr.

Any time I have gone there he has been very nice to me, above and beyond nice. He ask how the family is then we discuss me. He has been my Dr for I would say 30 years, and I would not trade him for any amount of money or anything.I have gone there when I didn't have an appointment at the time I got there it was later he took one look at me and I was taken to the er to be seen right away , and a little latter he came to see me in my room I was admitted.He has never raised his voice to me but you know if he ever did then it must have been something I was not doing that I was to be doing, so that would be my fault and I deserved to get yelled at. But I figure if your going to go to a doctor then do as he says or don't bother going! It's a waste of both of your times. He is an A-1 Dr, as far as I am concerned.

Dr. Fleet recently discovered a defective heart valve during a routine exam. He recognized that it wasn't just a common heart murmur but a potentially serious issue. His recommendation to get an echocardiogram resulted in confirmation of the problem and ultimately open heart surgery to repair the valve. As a result of catching this problem before heart damage occured - my long term survival probability is the same as if I'd never had heart disease. His expertise and dedication to his patients is exceptional.

I have had Dr. Fleet as my primary care doctor since he started his practice. I won't go to anyone else. I feel he knows me and my many medical issues better than my own family. He is easy to talk to, willing to listen, and we communicate very well together.
