I have been struggling for years with very painful legs. I am 7'1 320 pounds, it takes a toll on my body to pump the blood up and down from my heart. In the last two years I stopped wearing shorts in public for the discoloration of my skin. I have old man looking legs at 27 years old. Every so often I have a flair up in my veins and always went to the wrong place, that told me the same useless knowledge. This most recent flair up had me very concerned and in a lot of pain. I visited the CMC Surgical Care Group, because they were able to see me the soonest. I knew nothing about them until I did a random Google search for options. Let me tell you something about this visit. I was wrong for thinking it would be like any other doctor visit I've had for my legs. CMC Surgical Care Group is amazing no doctor, urgent care, or ER up until then took the time to help me understand what was happening, what I could do to help it and what the plan of action is to fix it, like them. I didn't want to leave I just felt so welcomed. Unlike any other experience I've ever had in a white walled doctors office. I was so aggravated going into the visit, thinking I'd leave with more questions than answers. It all my previous experiences they were cut and dry "this is what we think you have, and try this to fix it" I've been told I had cellulitis, that my leg might have to be cut off, I have ulcers and have to spend more money at wound care for them to heal. But after my visit, had to sit in my rig to process all that I learned, to think back to all the time I've spent at the wrong places and wonder what it would have been like to start with Surgical Care Group back in 2009 when all this started. Oh and I don't know if it matters to anyone else but the ladies that do the ultrasound actually talked while taking pictures. That's usually a very awkward silent part of any visit.
