List of Mark Singer's Reviews
By the way, this was all happening while I had sudden TOTAL loss of hearing in one ear. It has never recovered. I always wonder if the doctor's office has worked faster, if something could've been done to prevent permanent hearing loss.
This was the most useless appointment I have ever had. This man is an absolute joke of a doctor. Completely unhelpful, has no idea what the heck he is talking about, and has no interest in helping patients at all. Wow. Unbelievable. Unprofessional and absolutely useless. Do NOT ever waste your time with this guy. He doesn't listen and offers no solutions. He's just lazy.
My only experience with Dr. Singer was a 60 second video call during which he told me I needed to get a hearing test before he could help me. My insurance was charged $550 for the privilege and I was charged my full co-pay. Not only was it frustrating to be charged so much for something that did not need a video visit at all, but it was also incredibly frustrating to simply schedule the first appointment (half a dozen phone calls) and later attempt to reverse the charges (another half a dozen phone calls, none of which have been successful).Between the frustrating administrative and billing departments and the lackluster medical experience, I cannot recommend Dr. Singer.
Constant throat issues, really needed a contrast MRI, done, he agreed and said, lets also do this barium test. I though I would have to fight to get these ordered. he said , you have been issues long enough, lets get a closer look...
I had throat surgery with Dr. Singer and the teams he has put together. His friendly and efficient front office, his nurses, his own calm, reassuring manner, and obvious expertise, and the excellent anesthesiologist and surgical team, all inspire, well deserved, confidence.I have no hesitation in highly recommending him.

This doctor is mediocre at best and his office is a complete DISASTER; if I could give one star I would. Saw Dr. Singer at his office in Novato for random hearing loss because I couldn't get an appointment at his SF office which is closer to where I live. Drove all the way out there, to have him look in my ear and tell me to get a hearing test. That part was fine.Saw him in the SF office for a follow-up and he was not very kind- not that I need to be coddled by my doctor, but he was very short with me and when he left the room to write a prescription, took an unnecessarily long time to get back. He told me he wanted me to see a specialist at UCSF, get an MRI, and to have some labs done. I get to the lab only to have them tell me the order for it was cancelled, so I had to call Dr. Singer's office for him to put in the order AGAIN. Weird. Then I wait about a week to hear back about the referral to the specialist at UCSF. A nurse at his office told me the person who puts in the referrals is gone and to wait. I waited a few days to a week. When I called again, someone told me that the referral was put in, but they were just waiting for authorization. Since then, over a span of 2-3 weeks, I have called the office countless times and have been told every time that either they were just waiting for the insurance authorization, or the referral hasn't even been put in yet, or that the person who does these things isn't at the office. IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE of conflicting answers and phone calls. It also took over a week just to schedule the MRI because I had to call every day asking about the status of that referral. I've totally reached my limit here. No one at the office has answers, I've constantly been told conflicting things, and not been helped. I would NOT waste my time considering going to Dr. Mark Singer or his office, save yourself the hassle and go to another doctor.
He barked orders at me. I found him very abusive. I left feeling angry and frustrated that I had to be subjected to a person like that. I was there because I had a medical issue and was hoping to find answers instead I got verbally abused.
I have seen Dr. Singer for over a year in the diagnosis and treatment of a rare facial condition that had escaped diagnosis by multiple other physicians. I would love to say he walked into the room and knew immediately what others did not. This was not the case. Instead he thoughtfully shared what he knew and what he didn't. With serial exams, imaging and biopsy he diagnosed my problem and promptly set to work treating it. It was the thoughtfulness and persistence of the process that impressed me as much as the result. He kept me informed throughout. On a practical level his office is run well. Appointments are often available within the same week. He runs on time, respecting your schedule as much as his own. His assistant Jacqueline is an efficient and thoughtful team member. He partners with a plastic surgeon for optimal aesthetic results in the cases of select surgical procedures. I recommend him most highly.
Dr Singer did surgery on my throat quite awhile ago before there was "Yelp". He did a good job on what needed to be done and as other people have mentioned, his calm demeanor is very nice for someone who has to have serious medical attention. I will always be grateful to this Dr, and also he was especially sweet to my son Mike. Thank you Dr Singer- Good health to you and your family.Susan Anton

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
