ROCK STAR ALERT!!! I first saw Dr Hong in 2017 for ablation on lumbar spine. Fast forward to 2022 and my spine has deteriorated significantly. Had spinal surgery (cervical fusion) in March 2021. While successful, since then, my lumbar spine and shoulder (frozen shoulder) went to hell. My spine is complicated with a host of issues so my surgeon recommended me to UCSF Pain Management. As a teaching/academic hospital, she felt they might be better equipped to deal with the complicated nuances of my spine. I started treatment with them at the beginning of 2022-- and have been bed ridden since then (very difficult for a lifelong athlete). I contemplated going back to Dr. H -- but he was no longer on my insurance. But after 8 months in bed, I decided I would simply pay out of pocket in order to get help from Dr. H. (Kicking myself for not doing this sooner). After 8 months in bed. Dr. Hong ablated the nerves in my lumbar spine, adeptly navigating all the problems that seemed to befuddle UCSF. After 8 months being completely disabled, I am almost pain free (MIRACLES DO HAPPEN!!!!!) He wasn't just my doctor, he was my advocate to the insurance company (which made expeditious and effective treatment an incredibly long and cumbersome process). I know he spent hours on the phone with them at different intervals-- pushing for the authorizations I so desperately needed. Doctors simply won't do that. UCSF certainly did not. Despite the fact that he's not on my insurance, I will be seeking treatment from Dr H for my frozen shoulder. And, my husband is now seeing him for herniated discs. Frankly.... to hell with insurance. I am still incredulous at how difficult they made this whole process. Simply put, Dr Hong is a very seasoned, extremely experienced PRO. He is patient, extremely well spoken (explains everything in layman's terms), and frankly, a nice person. He and his staff (Arnold and Celeste) feel like family. Arnold and Celeste are PROs themselves -- patient with cranky patients experiencing excruciating pain, stellar schedulers (I"ve never waiting more than 5 minutes for my appointment), and genuinely nice people.

Fantastic reproductive endocrinologist. Nothing but great things to say about her and RMA. Highly recommend.

Dr. Hong is professional, caring and honest. She always explain to me my situation patiently whats the challenge, step by step. I can totally trust her. It is my luck to meet with Dr. Hong.

My wife and I (LBGT) had spent a year with a different IVF doctor/facility with no success. We felt something was ‘off’ and trusted our intuition and decided to switch to RMA. The initial consultation with Dr. Hong was not only a breath of fresh air - it was everything we didn’t know we were missing with our previous doctor. She wanted to listen to everything we had been through. We never felt rushed or without hope - she did the exact opposite. We left there feeling like we were 100% in the right hands. She immediately discovered my wife had more or less a blocked tube and fibroids and needed a procedure. We had our share of ups and downs trying to get pregnant- it was hard a lot of the time to keep the faith but she was always invested in us and our dream. We needed her to lift us up when we were losing hope. She was always there helping ground us in those dark times. She’s immeasurably compassionate, intelligent, understanding, funny, witty, and just a good human. That’s what sets her apart IMO. I could go on and on - but here we are coming up on the 1st birthday of our beautiful baby boy thanks to her and the entire RMA team!!!

Dr. Hong is patient, honest and very caring. Couldn’t have asked for a better doctor to take us on this difficult journey. I have referred many friends and everyone loves her!!!

Dr. Kathleen Hong, Nurse Emily and the whole team at RMA were a blessing during our stressful, anxiety-filled journey to parenthood. Dr. Hong is extremely knowledgeable and personable. The RMA team was friendly, comforting and honest. Easy to communicate, efficient with prenatal work-up process and morning monitoring and flexible with telehealth/virtual or in-person appointments during COVID-19. We truly thank you for your help and hope!

Dr. Hong is truly one in a million! You can tell that she loves what she does and has the ability to be understanding no matter how difficult the situation may be. She’s caring, empathetic, encouraging, yet realistic and honest in every step of the process. We couldn’t have imagined a better doctor to be a part of our journey. Don’t hesitate to meet with Dr. Hong if you’re looking to go through the fertility process.

Very caring and takes the time to help you understand everything you need to know. Very hard to find a doctor like her these days. If I could give her 10 stars I would.
