List of Saint Clare's Behavioral Health's Reviews
I was admitted into the children's ward here a few months ago (inpatient) and for a good amount of my stay things were okay! However there was one small incident with my assigned social worker that stuck with me for the remainder of my visit, hence the 3 stars. We had just finished having a call with my parents and I was rocking back and forth in my chair when she (social worker) asked if I was stimming. Rocking back and forth is indeed a stim so I said yes. Next she abruptly asked if I thought I was autistic. I was beginning to trust her because she was very supportive and considerate to me thus far in the facility. Ergo I thought I could open up to her about me thinking I might be autistic (long story). Unfortunately, my social worker proceeded to laugh in my face and said, "You're not autistic" with a big scary smile. :^( She's not qualified to be making these assumptions and jumping the gun as she's just a social worker, not a neuropsychologist. How she acted was also downright rude and not how someone who's in her position should be acting towards her assigned patients.I felt really bad and lost all my trust for her and somewhat of my trust for the rest of the staff members. I felt unsafe and partially lied about my mental state for the remainder of my stay because I was scared that would've happened again and scared to have to interact with my social worker again.P.S.- The food isn't the best (snacks kind of are though!!) and the lounge restrooms should be cleaned more often. >:/
Caring
horrible place to be trapped in. was there for 5 days with no one communicating with me. very dirty place and the workers do not care about you at all. do not go to this place this place shouldn’t even be open
Expected actual care - but basically it's a "one-size-fits-all" approach. Everyone is treated the same regardless of diagnosis. No after care or follow-up from staff or onsite doctor or psychiatrist. You're out of the building...you are on your own. I guess the thought is that you're not "in crisis" anymore so you're all fixed?
Wish I could leave this place zero stars. Truly one of the worst experiences anyone seeking psychiatric help can receive. If you care about your loved one. Do not under any circumstances send them to this facility. I'll never forget my stay at Briarcliff.
My brother has been seeing the same therapist for a long time. They are very caring.
I love this hospital, my son came to this hospital. He got a lot of help, the several times that I call them it doesn't bother them, always very polite. When he came out he was a different person. Getting in the facility was very very fast and I will always extremely recommend this facility.
St Clare's was a very helpful and a great blessing to my child and family!❤️✨😇 They had a very caring staff and everyone there was so sweet and understanding!
Worst psychiatric/behavioral health facility I have ever experienced in my life. And I've been getting care for my condition for 20 years, most of which was done in Alabama, and embarrassingly, it was leagues better than the care I got here. For one, the facility is in poor condition, dirty, and 90% of the staff was very uncaring, and I'd often hear them gossip and mock other patients. One counselor said "Malibu Rehab" to a nurse when a patient who was detoxing was having a meltdown.I had an issue with my medication, I am familiar with this medication, have been on it before, and told the med nurse (Ryan) that I wanted to speak to the doctor before I stepped up on it that quickly.Doctor agreed, left instructions to step me back down to my original dose for awhile longer.Ryan took that as "well, then she doesn't get that dose at all today", and you really shouldn't skip a dose on this particular medication.I waited until his shift ended so I could speak to someone who didn't treat me like a fool and then they gave me my dose later.Ryan really shouldn't be working in Healthcare, if I'm being 100% honest. And an intern psychiatrist treated her patients poorly. She had long dark hair, cannot recall her name, but she actually told a sobbing patient "I have other patients to see" rudely and then turned and walked away from her.I am also usually an early riser, so my normal wake up time is between 5 and 6am.Breakfast wasn't until 8-8:30am.I asked for anything, even just a pack of crackers, and I was denied. My stomach was growling, so I just drank water and paced the halls and did crosswords to bide my time.It was a rule to not bring food out of the dining hall, but I feel like I was forced to.If you want to feel like a subhuman and in an abusive prison, then, this would be the ideal place for you.The only people there I will praise is Mary Jane, Chuck, Michelle, and my psychiatrist, I cannot remember how to spell her name, but she was an older woman with short hair and glasses, and she was absolutely wonderful and informative. There were just a couple of others than I liked, but I can't recall their names at the moment.I need(ed) the IOP (intensive out-patient) program. I got out on a Friday, I was supposed to do intake the following Monday. My husband had taken off work, as we weren't sure if I could drive on the new medication or not and wanted to monitor it (I totalled a car years ago on a similar medication and have a history of falling asleep at the wheel while on them), then I get a call that they can't do it that Monday, but they can the following Monday. I decided to give them another shot (which I regret), so I agreed to wait. Then I get a call today that they can't actually see me on that day, and that I will now have to be put on a waiting list, tentatively doing my intake paperwork over a month later.I asked if I could at least get my prescriptions, they told me I couldn't do that until I had my assessment while doing the intake paperwork.I then asked if I could do the Zoom version of the IOP, which I was also told I had to be put on waiting list. What is even the point of this place? Why do these people even work in Healthcare?Do they want me to have another visit?I've never felt so abused by Healthcare "professionals" in my life. And I'm not the only one, read the other reviews.I don't see how they have all the awards that they do.Luckily I at least got my medications straightened out, but I will never be coming back here, nor would I ever recommend this facility to anyone.
my experience was good and bad, there were people like dr chiodo and nurse jen? i think. but these people made my experience a bit better than my last two. i feel like they just hired random counselors to work here without knowing them and how they are like. kids that are yonger than 13 can only go in the rooms in the lounge they cant go out to the lounge with the older kids and that really dosent make sense, being stuck in a room made me even more depressed. its a horrible system especially if your a younger kid in there with no escape at all. not to mention i got judged for my breath by a staff member. like are you serious? i would never put someone in crisis in this ward.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
