Very helpful and caring doctor

This is special and incredible Doctor . I was blessed to be one of his patients. Unfortunately this review is not enough to describe my experience and my appreciation I would just say that His approach was life changing and absolutely magical. I am grateful that nowadays we have Doctors like Dr. Unger that can provide life changing treatment while healing body and mind . Lately I have been noticing that doctors no longer hear my story and that's why Dr Unger is absolutely unique . He is extremely personable, fantastic listeners, very empathetic to the concerns of his patient. If something is not fixable he is honest and straight forward but if there is anything that he has 1% chance to fix he will make it happen. He is using techniques combined with latest revolutionary treatment methods that's absolutely life changing. Special thanks to entire office as well manager Lisa for always being so professionalism and for her patience . You guys are angels .

I am writing this review, not as a patient of Dr. Unger but has a colleague in medicine. I am a physician as well who has been in medicine for 13 years. I have worked and been educated in 7 large institutions across the United States working with professors of all walks of life. I work as a consultant with Dr. Unger and interact with him regularly but in a different sub-specialty. I know him to be one of the most caring and thorough clinicians I have ever met. His history, resume, expertise and personality are outstanding. He has gone out of his way to write to textbooks on the management of diabetes. I have met several people who have done this, none of them have the aptitude and kind personality that Dr. Unger has. When I receive a referral from him, I receive an informed history that is certainly the most thorough and relevant to the particular question we are aimed to ask of any available. I know many primary care physicians, Dr. Unger is the most interested and attentive of any I have met. Every referral comes with a detailed letter. When I receive referrals from other institutions and individuals, it is up to me to seek for further information and this is often done at a great time investment on my part. There have been instances in which I will call him without any foreknowledge, I will mention a patient's name and he will be able to recall, in detail, all recent events, labs, and other features of the patient without any reference to a medical chart. I don't know anyone who can do this. When I interact with others, I am invariably asked to hold momentarily while they search through their charts to receive a mental update. This isn't exactly a sign of poor performance for others, in fact is is reasonable, but the fact that Dr. Unger is able to accurately describe in many unprompted details the situation cannot be understated. I believe it is a reflection of his attention. It is not distracted, he has the appropriate energy in the right place. Needless to say he knows his patients very well, he interacts with them outside his clinic hours regularly, he always knows what I am doing for them as we work together. I have never met a primary care physician so exhaustively involved in a patient's medical care. When other patients come to my clinic expressing concern about their current primary care provider, Dr. Unger the first thought to come to mind. I have been through this experience many times. Inevitably I receive a telephone call from the patient I referred to him with very positive thoughts, the overwhelming majority are highly satisfied.

Dr. Unger is very professional and compassionate. Does a great job of taking care of my family and I. Highly recommend!

Dr. Unger was very methodical and very pleasant. His treatment of my medical condition was successful and I am very pleased. Very pleasant office staff.

Dr. Unger and his equally sweet wife, Lisa, treated me with such care and professionalism when I received my 1st Moderna shot about a month at their drive up clinic. She not only repeatedly checked on me after my shot but he came over and personally introduced himself. This is not my regular physician but I can tell you these are caring people. If he's your primary, you're very lucky indeed.

The staff was awful. It was chaotic, not organized, and a couple of the nurses were downright rude. I have never left a bad review before...for any doctor. The offices and waiting room felt cramped and staff seemed to be moving in and out of rooms with a rushed pace. They messed up blood work twice and didn't call me back when results came in (I had to track it down). The office's company messed up my insurance and I am still fighting bills. They were also having computer issues during 2 different appts. The Dr. is hard to rate because everything around him just seemed 'off'. :(

My Husband has Covid and Dr. Unger is the best doctor. I love his positive attitude and his caring heart. He called and FaceTimed us every 2 hours to check on him. Dr. Unger is very thorough and very knowledgeable. He truly cares about his patients. It makes me happy to have a doctor that cares and has the time he has to invest in his patients. I am so blessed Dr. Unger is an amazing conceirge doctor. I love that fact that you are not just a number and he knows his patients very well. Thank you so much Dr. Unger for everything, you are truly an amazing doctor. We are thankful to have you as a doctor.
