List of Alan G. Salz's Reviews
This place is a mill. If you want to feel like you are part of a herd of cattle, this is the doctor's office for you. It is about as non-patient oriented as any physicians office that I have ever visited. You try to register when you arrive but all the office staff are busy on the phone so you wait on a line for about 10 minutes before they have enough time to acknowledge your appointment. Then someone takes to you the first station and when you're done there, they usher you to a another large waiting room. You are then called in by some other staff to see the eye doctor who meets you with another assistant. The doctors spends a total of five minutes with you after your hour and half wait and that's it. Between the uncaring staff, the wait that is ridiculously long and how little time is spent with the doctor, it's obvious what drives this practice - money and greed. Will be finding another doctor.
I had the pleasure of getting my LASIK done by Dr. Alan Salz. He was thorough, professional and transparent. He showed enormous confidence throughout the process, especially during the 30m surgical procedure and that definitely helps when you are going through an elective, high-sensitive, risky surgery. My recovery was as they explained and I had a great 20/20 vision shortly after surgery! Just up to that point alone I would give five stars. BUT as my fate would have it, I had a freak accident about a month after LASIK during a casual Saturday evening tennis game and one of my flabs got dislocated. Under an extraordinary circumstance, Dr. Salz showed up and single handedly without any other help did another surgical procedure to fix my eye, on a Saturday night at 10 PM! I was enormously lucky to have had my vision back that day with my eyeballs hanging literally in Dr. Salz godly hands. I chose to write this review because of what happened on that unlucky yet lucky Saturday night. Yes, their office visit wait times are not ideal but I have come to accept that to see a world-class specialist one has to compromise on certain things like wait times. And of course, wear protective goggles when playing sports after LASIK!
I had LASIK done by Dr. Salz - amazing experience. The wait was reasonable compared with the other places I went for an evaluation. Dr. Salz went over all my options in detail, and I felt very comfortable that I was making the right decision. The results speak for themselves, my vision is better than its ever been. Highly recommend!
Been seeing this group of doctors for years. My son had LASIK done here by Dr. Alan Salz and is thrilled with his vision.
I have been going to him since he was at his smaller location and was excellent but as his popularity grew so did the wait and appointment times. Unacceptable to wait for so long to be seen. When I see him I feel rushed. The office tried to push his son for appointments but I wanted D. Alan since been with him for over a decade. Sadly I have seen how the quality has gone down over the years. I know many who has had surgery and speak highly of his operations but the daily exams and routine eye care he does not seem interested in as patients. He is definitely qualified, experienced and has the credentials.
Dr. Alan Salz performed cataract surgery on my eyes over a year ago and I am pleased with the entire experience. He answered my questions thoughtfully and thoroughly, and he encouraged me to research all my options. He implanted new multi-focal lenses and I no longer wear glasses- not even for reading!! The surgical procedure was seamless and the staff amazing. Dr. Salz has a super bedside manner, and I highly recommend him to you for anything related to your eyes!
Alan Salz accidentally gave me the wrong prescription for glasses. I paid to have glasses made with this script and they were not usable. I then compared the prescription he gave me to my last 5 prescriptions - and it was obviously wrong. I asked him to reverse the charge for this maitake and he refused. It is one thing to make a mistake. It is another thing not to admit it and not charge the patient for the mistake. I would find someone else.
Very disappointed with the extremely long waiting time and to even to get an appt. as an existing patient (nearly 2 months out). Every time I've gone to the office I had to wait a minimum of 1 hr. and once I had to leave and come back another day. The staff is kind but not helpful at all, and looks like they do not respect and value the patients' time. I will most likely never go back there ever again. They have taken the waiting to a completely new level. Bad. !!!!!
Terrific team, though the wait is always 2 hours minimum. There is huge demand for top talent, and very few excellent Ophthalmologists. One concern, on two occassions, an assistant of the doctor got the directions for eye drops incorrect, both in writing and in the computer system. I now know to look her in the eye, repeat in front of the Dr. his instructions and make sure it is correct in both places. She's lovely but, it worries me that she may negatively impact patient recovery, especially as so many of Dr. Salz's patients are older/surgergical patients.
Wait time is unacceptable. Appt made 6 months in advance and we still have to wait an hour and a half? Sometimes it's longer. And waiting room was packed. During COVID? Just unacceptable. Finding a new doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
