List of Jeffrey Unger's Reviews
The staff was awful. It was chaotic, not organized, and a couple of the nurses were downright rude. I have never left a bad review before...for any doctor. The offices and waiting room felt cramped and staff seemed to be moving in and out of rooms with a rushed pace. They messed up blood work twice and didn't call me back when results came in (I had to track it down). The office's company messed up my insurance and I am still fighting bills. They were also having computer issues during 2 different appts. The Dr. is hard to rate because everything around him just seemed 'off'. :(
A patient's health does not seem to be a priority for this firm. I have been a patient here for almost 3 years. I have to get an infusion every 8 weeks for a condition I have. If I do not get the infusion on time, my condition worsens seriously. We recently changed our insurance. Before the change, we confirmed with this firm AND the carrier that they were a participating provider. When I made an appointment for my next infusion, I told them about the new insurance company. The office confirmed that they were participating but mentioned they did not like that insurance company. Since then, they have not honored my next appointment for the infusion. They claimed they could not get a pre-approval for my infusion because the new insurance company was not the primary insurance. That was a blatant lie - the insurance company confirmed that a pre-approval was not necessary and they were my primary insurance company. Since then, I have been calling this office every day for the last 7

Dr.Unger and his staff are awesome they make you feel so comfortable like you’re part of the family never had a bad experience with the whole staff : )
Dr Unger is a very attentive dr, he listens and cares! Great bedside manner! I have many medical issues and have many Drs that I have to see, and like all offices who is at the front desk can really make your experience great or awful!!!! Sometimes you can tell how everything has been going in the office all day! I had the same gastroenterologist for over 30 years and he was great so when I found out he was leaving I got the referral from him that I loved and took great care of me for all of those years ! And I’m so glad he referred me to dr Unger and I feel like he knew exactly who I need! He wants to figure out what is going on with me and want to get me better‼️And I’m sure he will!
Really nice and very helpful to me. I like his way. Very caring.
This review is specifically for the staff at doctor Unger's office and not directed doctor Unger himself. The staff there verified with my 82-year-old father-in-law that they accepted his insurance not once but TWICE! my father-in-law got a friend to drive him to the appointment an hour away and when he got to the appointment they told him that they do not accept his insurance!!! it took my father-in-law 2 1/2 hours to get back home because of after work traffic he basically went to that appointment for nothing due to the staff negligence. I am aware that people make mistakes but there's a fine line between a mistake and incompetence. what makes the staff incompetent is that they verified with his niece who is a doctor and myself that they accepted his insurance. this leaves my father-in-law still having stomach pains still not examined and struggling to find a new appointment. It was a great inconvenience to him, his friend, his niece and myself who made the appointment.
The best doc. Cares about his patients. He tookgood care of my issues.
Dr. Jeffrey Unger's practice GASTROMED is a most professional, diligent and thorough group of physicians.
I appreciated his genuine concern and detail with trying to finding the root cause of my small bowel obstruction.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
