Amazing, holistic approach to cardiac disease. she uses western medication when needs to but will try other approaches first. she monitors your condition , listens to your concerns and responds appropriately. The best cardiologist I've been to, approaches females differently than male clients.

Review of Dr. Rachana (Rasheda)Kulkarni, MD 9.20.17 from Dr. H.S. Hamod Sadly, I feel she is not a good doctor; a doctor is to care for their patients, but she did not have this quality in an appointment I had with her on 9.19.17 in her Hillsborough, NJ office. As one doctor to another; she needs to reassess why she is a doctor. It would be good if she remembered the Hippocratic Oath that we, as doctors are supposed to follow: "Do No Harm." She did me harm by not honoring her appointment with me, and then declining to even explain herself and her denial. This upset me greatly, because I had driven an hour to get to the appointment and was one time; with a heart condition, a good cardiologist never should aggrevate a patient or even take the time to explain themselves to the patient. I was upset and appalled by her most unprofssional behavior. This doctor, Dr. Rasheda (sp)Kulkarni should be spoken to by Robert Wood Johnson Hospital Administration. I write this so that she does not treat another potential patient in this way. Her office manager, Michelle, said I was 15 minutes late for my appointment. The day before, I was told it was 2.15, but Michelle insisted it was 2 pm. I then told her, supposed I am wrong, then, if it was 2 pm, I was not 15 minutes late. Thus, when I told her to look at her office clock, which said 2.10; I said, then i"m only 10 minutes, not 15 minutes late. Michelle kept repeating her mistaken mantra:"You are 15 minutes late..." Finally , I told her, as one doctor to another, I would like to speak with Dr. Kulkarni; but , she said Dr. Kulkarni refused to see or talk with me. I told Michelle that this is not how I practiced medicine, and that it was wrong. Finally, after a great deal of protestation, at least 10 to 15 minutes, while I waited for them to make a decision, they did shift me to a Dr. Ahn; he was gracious enough to see me. I found Dr. Ahn to be understanding, polite, professional, knowledgeable, and we were able to communicate as two doctors interested in real medical care. I had had a triple bypass in June of 2010 at Johns Hopkins and I felt that I was having some new issues with stamina and possibly had some new blockage, and I wanted to work with a good cardiologist in order to find out the state of my heart. I respect and am pleased that I was referred to Dr. Ahn and I plan to continue with him. However, as a doctor, I would be remiss if I did report the very unethical, unmedical and unfair treatment I received from Dr. Rasheda Kulkarni ( there are at least 2 spellings of her first name, but she is a cardiologist who practices with Medicor out of the Hillsborough and Brigewater offices in NJ). In the end, I feel it was a blessing that she did not see me. I would not want a doctor who was so uncaring about my health. Let me also make clear that she upset me greatly, and that I did end up taking a nitro-glycerine pill before I saw Dr. Ahn in order to calm my heart down, so that I would not have a heart attack from the stress and major protest I had to put up in order to be seen in that Medicor Cardiology Center in Hillsborough, NJ yesterday. After speaking with my cousin, who had helped to reorganize Northwestern University Hospital, she said she felt I hade an obligation to report this unfortunate incident; I agreed, for the sake of improving the medical care Dr. Kulkarni gives, and also so that my experience is not repeated with other patients. Stay away. I went to her for years. Sent me to Philly to see a bizarre doctor and she had diagnosed me with PSVT which every other doctor said I did not have. She will remain completely silent at an appt and appears to not know what she is talking about. She "treated" my father for a short time as we changed cardiologists from someone she told me was awful. The other doctor was horrible in that he prescribed unnecessary medications and did a lot of constant unnecessary tests and was emotionally abusive to my father, but Dr. Kulkarni did not treat my father at all and he died as a result. Today is 3 years since his death and it's taken me this long to write this review. Her Bridgewater office messed up my father's coumadin results with his mother's records (she's in her 90's). When I pointed it out, the staff then told me how several office staff have been fired because people died due to their mistakes. My father had heart failure. Dr. Kulkarni chose to not to treat him and told me "That's nothing" and dismissed it. His BNP was in the thousands. She said he did not need surgery on his heart valves and you don't want to do surgery too soon so we did not go to a surgeon as the other doctor suggested. She said his liver was the problem. She took him off of coumadin, lowered the statin and beta blocker. My father was 63. He had a TIA at age 39 and had AFib that was hard to control. Also had a history of very high blood pressure. Whenever my mother or I went to an appt with my father, Dr. Kulkarni said nothing at the appt.....literally nothing. The most we got out of her is "everything looks fine." He was dying and it was clear to all of us and she did NOTHING which is why he died. If it wasn't for lack of heart treatment, he would be alive today. His last stay in the hospital, I read the Kulkarni notes that the electrophysiologist was supposed to come in to put in a pacemaker (which she should have told us he needed months earlier but didn't) and he never came. The Patel doctor from the group that was not an electrophysiologist came in and he did nothing either. The electrophysiologist never came in to my father's room. My father subsequently died days later when his heart got to be twice it's normal size, the right side stopped functioning and he had cardiac arrest. To further prove she did nothing, when he went to a transplant hospital for an evaluation for a liver transplant, the insurance sent him a letter saying they approve a HEART transplant and that is what he needed. He did not need a liver transplant. He was having problems with the liver because of the heart. Kulkarni only words were "his heart is not the problem." All of his doctors got together after his death and concluded the heart was the problem and main cause of death. I was informed of this after the fact. I tried to talk to Dr. Kulkarni after his death and she was mean and rude and would not answer most of my questions. I asked her if my father had needed heart valve surgery and she said yes he needed surgery but it was too late. She is the one who told us to wait and not do it and who did not treat his heart failure and AFib. I asked her if he would have survived if he got the surgery right before he died and she said probably not. My father died because she failed to care for him and said he didn't have a heart problem. There are so many mistakes made in this office and with her failure to treat my father properly and me when I was a patient. My advice - stay away. She also kept telling me that the cause of my father being in the hospital was alcohol consumption. He wasn't even drinking! Those are very serious assumptions when the family knows what is really going on as opposed to someone who sees him every few months and sits there silently for 10 minutes and won't even talk to the patient. My advice - stay away. Especially if you want to live. Go to a doctor that answers all your questions and you don't have to harass to get any answer, who willingly gives you information and doesn't falsely accuse you of doing things you are not doing and who is capable of treating heart failure and AFib. There is no communication with this doctor and the office makes horrendous errors. My best guess is they were also mixing up my father's test results with his daughters, as well as his mothers but only they know that now. Find a doctor that cares to take care of their patients, does not lack all communication skills and can identify serious, obvious heart conditions.

There are not enough superlatives to describe Dr. Kulkarni. She is gracious, compassionate, exceedingly educated in her field. I have been a patient for almost ten years; she is open to discussion and has kept abreast of new diagnostic tools. Although I am not a cardiac patient, I have a very strong family background of cardiac disease. With her guidance, I am confident that I will be able to overcome genetics and remain healthy and active well into my senior years. She is the "gold standard" for an excellent medical professional in every area.

Very good doctor! She invests her time and knowledge in your health. For the last 10 years she has taken great care of me.

Dr. Kulkarni was extremely pleasant and listened to all of my health concerns. She was thorough in her diagnostic testing and provided me with all the results in a timely manner. Her office took my insurance (Cigna), accepted me as a new patient, and had late night office hours. Office staff was great too. Highly recommended!

Dr. Kulkarni is one of the best doctors I have had. She is a very caring person and spends a lot of time with her patients. I always leave her office feeling as though all of my questions have been answered. The office staff there too is awesome btw. They have fought over the phone w/ my health insurance for me and always get my paperwork/ meds in on time.
