Great Cardiologist!!!
This doctor isn’t what he used to be. Dr Mahal is rude, arrogant and really doesn’t care about your well being. My father had a stroke recently due to a missed diagnosis of Atrial Fibrillation. I feel Dr Mahal could’ve prevented his stroke. When you have questions for him he rudely snaps at you. He has long wait times for less than twenty minute visit. He is only concerned with seeing the next patient. He used to be a good doctor when RWJ was the old Somerset Medical Center. Pick a different Cardiologist.
Saved my life several times. He's been my cardiologist for the past 22 years. Is always available. Easy to make an appointment. His staff is excellent!
Been going to Dr Mahal for 10 years after he saved my life. He and his staff treat their patients like family. Always available and always makes time to answer any and all questions.
Dr. Mahal and his staff are very professional. I have been having chest pain for some while now and decided to go see Dr. Mahal. He did an EKG in his office and it came back with a borderline issue. I was then scheduled for a Echocardiogram and a stress test to rule out any underlying heart issues. Later in the week , I was still having chest pain and I decided to come to the ER and it was decided that I would need to be admitted for a cardiac workup. I am still here in the hospital and scheduled to have my stress test completed tomorrow morning. If all goes well , I will get to go home home with my kids. I guess what I'm getting to is that Dr. Mahal and his staff care about his patients and are meticulous on getting to the bottom of things.
I was very impressed with the physical aspect of the office and staff. Clean, high tech and proficient. Dr Mahal is clearly in no rush and listens. I do not object to waiting for a competent clinician as I had a little wait today prior to being seen. My perspective on waiting is well worth it when the clinician is outstanding. Continue to practice in this manner! Thank yoi.
Doctor Mahal is friendly / knowledgeable person. He will make you feel comfortable, the moment he talks to you. No matter how you feel before you meet him, he will ensure you walk out confidently & have full life ahead of you. He ensures we are well informed on our condition and provides clear / simple guidelines to recover
In February 2019 I had a very bad experience. After 2 visits I never went back. I went because I had gone into Afib. I was afraid and very upset when he said he wanted to put me on blood thinners. I mentioned to him that the type of cancer I have causes me to bruise easily. He said "why are you crying?" Then he said" Would you rather have a stroke or bleed out?" I thought that was a rhetorical question but he asked me again and he wanted me to answer. I was in no condition to answer, and I felt bullied!! He surely didn't do anything to make me feel at ease or even try to. My husband was also taken back on how non professional he was. I did start the meds and went back for a second visit. He was again very callous. I don't know if he was having another bad day, or what his problem was. Never have I been treated by a doctor like that! In my opinion he should not be seeing patients. Should be 0 star review.
Dr. Mahal is a gentleman who is interested in his patients. His communication is clear and thorough. His office is very easy to work with and exceptionally efficient. They are very responsive to inquiries and respond quickly. I am confident in his advice and look forward to a long and heart-healthy relationship.
He is a wonderful dr he takes care of all my family so blessed very caring highly recommend!! Thank you dr mahal

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
