The best doctor.

Truly a wonderful physician! Dr. Young is absolutely amazing and I'd highly recommend him.

I moved back to New Jersey to be near Dr.Young, as I wasn't satisfied with my doctor in Florida. I have had two types of cancer since 2012 and they were getting progressively worse. Someone recommended Dr. Young to me. When I used to visit New Jersey on vacation, I went to him for some maintenance injections. He asked me why I wasn't getting the stronger dose of that medicine, as the other medicine I was getting wasn't really helping me. When I went back to Florida, the doctors office manager claimed they couldn't get the stronger medication. I called the pharmaceutical company and they asked me a lot of questions, saying they would evaluate the request. They said there was no reason I couldn't get the stronger medication. To make a long story short, with my condition getting worse, I decided to move back to New Jersey to be near relatives and Dr. Young. I believe he has extended my life with his care.

Dr. Steven Young is my first choice of oncology/ hematology specialists. I have been a nurse for 33 years and I was having issues with prolonged swollen lymph nodes that were very concerning. Dr Young is an excellent Diagnostician. He took the time to listen and figure out what was wrong with me. This physician is well versed on the latest treatments in cancer care. I have sent my own father and uncle to Dr. young for treatment with excellent results.

Dr Young is conscientious, detail oriented and knowledgeable. He has a lovely disposition and direct with the information presented.

Through an innovative use of medication he prescribed Dr. Young made it possible for me to avoid major surgery. Dr. Young listens to me when i ask him questions. His explanations are given at a level that can be understood by someone without a medical background. He is unhurried during an appointment. I never feel that he is talking to me with one of his feet already out the door. He smiles and he laughs. Dr. Young also cares for my husband. We both feel that Dr. Young shows a genuine interest in his patients.

In 2011, I had a fairly unpopular bariatric surgery called a Duodenal Switch. Though it saved my life, it causes me to malabsorb essential vitamins and nutrients at an alarming rate. As a result, I am severely anemic. So off to Dr. Young I went. My bloodwork showed my iron at 15. Regular range is between 40 and 100-something. My ferritin (protein) was at 4. It should be at tripled at least. My iron saturation was at 6. Again, should be tripled at least. Dr. Young had no idea what the Duodenal Switch entailed. There was a computer screen in front of him the entire visit; he showed no interest in Googling it. I also asked (begged) him to call my bariatric surgeon for a quick consult to discuss the severity of my labs. Dr. Young wasn't having it. Dr. Young discussed nothing but my hemoglobin levels (which should have been doubled to make the minimum "normal range"). He felt that my hemoglobin wasn't THAT bad and that I didn't truly need iron infusions at all. That we only take in 1 gram of iron a day... and I just need to adjust my diet. ... Adjusting my diet is not an option when I malabsorb 50% of my food/vitamins/nutrients!! I pushed him hard and he ordered 2 infusions for me. Two!! I came home and cancelled those two appointments and found my old hematologist's other office. For the record, my old hematologist asked me "How are you capable of walking?!?" and toyed with the idea of a blood transfusion, before ordering me 10 double bags of iron infusions coupled with B12 shots... Dr. Young would have led me into a hospital bed. I recommend you avoid his care.

Dr. Young is a very, compassionate, kind, knowledgeable physician.

Dr young is a breath of fresh air, kind, caring intellectual and cares about his patients. I am only a hematological patient yet he cares deeply about my well being. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Young is compassionate, has a great sense of humor, kind and brillliant. He has a fabulous reputation and has earned every ounce of it. I am so blessed that he is my doctor through this time in my life.
