Jo-Ann Szylit's Online Review Report Card

If I could give 0 stars I would. I was 10 minutes late to an appointment because according to their texts and emails it was at 11:20 but on the “books” it said 11:10. I am a new mom and had to find child care for my 3 month old to tattend this appointment. I got lost trying to get there so by the time I got to the office is was 10:25. Never in my life have a dealt with a doctors office that is so unwilling to be even slightly flexible. I understand if I was 30 minutes late or something but it is absurd. I am appauled and saddened that this is how they conduct their business. I will not be going to this dermatologist moving forward. Nor will I recommend.

While living in North Jersey I had seen Jo Ann for many years.....the office was pleasant and professional. Dr. Z knowledge was impressive. She had a specialist come in for my Mohs Surgery....Dr. S had an opinion on a toe skin issue. I proceeded to NYC and the dermatologist in Manhattan confirmed Dr. Z diagnosis....... top knowledge in Kinnelon NJ. Thank you. Once I had a billing issue and the staff happily helped me.

If it was possible for me to leave a TEN-star rating for this amazing doctor, I would… Her concern for her patients, her expertise and experience shine through at every appointment. From the moment you walk into her office, you are greeted warmly by her staff and the waiting room is comfortable and empty because her appointments are not over scheduled nor rushed. Dr. Szylit is professional yet personable and is one of the best doctors on mine and my family’s medical caregivers… I would, and have, recommended Dr. Szylit to friends and associates for YEARS. I am posting as Patricia Atkinson-Battista, Carmine’s wife… My husband will post his own review as he thinks as highly of the practice as I do… We’ve been going to Dr. Szylit for several years and, quite honestly, we wouldn’t go to any other dermatologist for excellent care. Dr. Szylit is knowledgeable, thorough and professional… as important to us, she is relentlessly kind… there is not a moment when we feel rushed… Her staff is equally kind, accommodating and personable… I have never felt other than completely comfortable and cared for at Kinnelon Dermatology… And the kindness of all those who work here is particularly important to me as I have a neurologically impaired brother who lives with me who has visited Dr. Szylit… and our Bill, who has sadly been treated other than kindly by a few medical professionals, thinks as highly of Dr. Szylit and her staff as we do. Our family cannot recommend Dr. Szylit and her practice highly enough… She’s truly just that good… as are all those who work with her.

Would leave no stars but cannot. Office staff here have zero customer service skill set + are rude and confrontational. Go elsewhere!

Very poor office staff. We waited two weeks for get result of biopsy. They had the results but never called us. We only got result after going to our family doctor. Twice my wife filled forms to send result to family doctor. Have been going to Dr. Szylit for years, but will never go to her again. I don't trust her office staff.

Office staff was rude. Called for an appointment, was told there was nothing for 5 months. I was not even offered to see another Doctor or PA... Will be finding a different practice . My Mom had a similar experience a few years ago, and never went back ...

I have no specifically comment on individual doctor. My husband had few cysts or mold that after biopsy result. But I have questions about its practice to get the patients back for follow up. My husband ( medicare recipient) had some cyst removed while the result of biopsy was positive for cancer. We got the call from the office, but did not get advice to follow up. Only how to care and observe the site. Almost a year later , we got the letter told us that my husband should come back for follow up. Meanwhile my husband was doing fine, no any issue at the site of surgery. I declined. recently my husband went to the same office had his cancerous cyst removed by other doctor. This was after the primary biopsy done by doc.Szylit. But she did not do the surgery, 5 weeks after that, my husband had surgery done by other doctor. As routine the second doctor sent an other tissue from the surgical site . that result was other kind of cancer cell which is growing deeper. While my husband was recoup from the surgery ,we got call from the worker that the surgeon wants to discuss further treatment with my husband who is 96 yrs old. What further treatment is, I have not discussed with this doctor. But judging from my husband age, the further treatment is excessive. While the doctor removed big portion of the aI dont like the stffected skin and tissue. If the cancer cell was not completely removed. Patients in general would go for further treatment. My husband case. the first time ,it took the office almost a year to contact us for follow up visit. This time it wants followup of the 96 year old patient,who is most likely demised by other health issue, but not the skin cancer. I dont believe in star review even I buy things thru internet with these symbol. I have no any issue with persons but questioning its practice.
