Citymd Carle Place Urgent Care- Long Island's Online Review Report Card

If you need a quick doctor visit, this is a well enough place to go. HOWEVER - be forewarned that IF you need ANY SORT of aftercare or documentation for your visit, you will be caught in a web of bureaucratic red tape that will have your head spinning. I visited the Carle Place office and was mis-diagnosed with COVID (that's a whole other nightmare trying to get a doctor on the phone afterwards). My insurance asked for a letter from them indicating date of service, diagnosis & services rendered. Seems like a simple request, right? I've been trying to reach someone at "after care" for TWO days now without success. Finally I was transferred to an automated line that instructed me to go online and fill out an "authorization form" that I need to email them. Completely unacceptable. Another example of a company too big to care.

CityMD's service is great and I love the way you organize yourself and the hospitality of the administrative staff, office staff and doctors and nurses. it was really nice and very good service. I like you very much

My experience was excellent. The staff was kind, smart and caring. I knew I needed an x-ray and the staff was upfront telling us there was no x-ray tech in the Carle Place location that we had to go somewhere else for the films. I was ok with that. The doctor called with results as soon as he had a wet read and that the radiologist would view and give me a call the next day. That happened and confirmed a fracture. I told the PA that called that I would set up my own ortho FU. My problem started when the report was not posted to my portal and when I called for help I was on hold both times I called for 10 minutes each. I thought to send a message through the system but I was not able to find the doctor I saw or the CityMD in the dropdown. At the writing of this survey, over 24 hours later, my results are still not posted under "test results"

Terrible experience went with severe sinusitis for 7 days and pink eye in both eyes and the PA wouldn’t prescribe anything. I saw my doctor today after getting even worse and was given eye drops and an antibiotic. I would never go there again. Total waste of time and money.

10 STARS + many more to such a professional, courteous & knowledgeable team! From the Site Manager Alex to the front desk staff & all of the medical team my experience was nothing less than perfect. From COVID, to No fault, the flu & dog bites! CITYMD carle place is always my go to. Through sickness & health, there’s isn’t a better group of medical staff I would trust more!

Carlos the front desk representative, is very unprofessional and rude , he’s needs better training speaking to patients calling and coming in the facility.

I would give this urgent care 0 stars if I could. I walked in with a panic attack after watching my puppy suffer and die across the street at the emergency vet. I walked in visibly distraught and vulnerable, and was met with a rude "Insurance card and ID" request by the girl at the front desk. Then, when being admitted into an examination room, I clearly stated I was having a panic attack due to the above event, but that I was otherwise a healthy person with zero medical history. I then stated that all I needed was a tranquilizer to calm my nerves. I was then told I needed to do blood work and have an EKG for NO REASON. I agreed to the tests, thinking in the end they would just give me the medicine I requested. The lady who did the EKG then asked me to "calm down" and "stay still" because I was moving too much. Who asks that of a person having a panic attack? Finally, a doctor came, who told me my heart is fine and my EKG came out normal (I could have told them that). After I explained AGAIN that I was there for a panic attack after losing my dog 20 minutes prior, and that I was just there for a Xanax or whatever, he said "We don't do that here." Well, why not tell me that when I walk in before I waste time in a doctor's office doing unnecessary exams? He offered his condolences for my dog, and then said "Well, if it's not your first dog, you must be used to it." No, I'm not used to it. No animal lover ever gets used to it. I work in healthcare and a little bedside manner goes a long way. Then the kicker, I get a bill for $100 for my "emergency visit." A visit that offered me nothing. I would have been better off going for a glass of wine. Shame on you CityMD, for your lack of professionalism, poor bedside manner, and for taking advantage of the vulnerability of others.
