Daniella Montemurro's Online Review Report Card

My concerns were not addressed, couldn't even explain what I've been experiencing hence why the appointment was made. In the attempts to explain why I was there, I just kept being talked over. Looked back on the notes to see Dr. Montemurro noted I had no complaints and came for a "well woman" exam. What a joke.

I will start off by saying I have been a patient of this practice for 10+ years under Dr. Robert Montemurro who is a wonderful OBGYN. I have had the pleasure of being treated by Dr. Daniella Montemurro who has always been wonderful. My most recent visit however, I felt Dr. Daniella was quite disconnected and brief. I disregarded it and felt we are all human and have our days. All my prior experiences with Dr. Daniella have been pleasant. Fast forward to last week after I went for an ultrasound since I have been in pain my last few periods (Thursday). I called the office on Thursday and Melissa answered (I typically speak with the other woman in the office who has been there since Dr. Montemurro's wife assisted in the front desk area, she is a gem). I informed Melissa I had went for my ultrasound but was very anxious since now I also skipped a period and have had a tubal ligation. She was curt and stated both the MA's in the office were busy with patients. I stated I understood so I asked will someone be able to call me back as I know the office is closed on Fridays. She replied stating even though the office is closed, they will be there for "paperwork". Thursday, I understandably did not receive a call and Friday since they are closed. Monday comes and it is now after 12pm, so I call the office and this time I get the friendly woman I mentioned above who has been there for years, lovely as usual. I inform her my concerns and she says paperwork should have been reviewed and added to the chart. She confirms the paperwork was not added to the chart somehow but that the doctor should be calling that day. I still did not receive a call from the doctor. I tried calling multiple times Tuesday with no success. Now today, I called and get Melissa on the line. I explain to her the scenario and re-address my concerns. She asks for all my demographics and states the doctor will call you. I explain to her I was already told that and no one has called, so I am pretty anxious now. While I am in mid-sentence she cuts me off and starts rambling about when I got my ultrasound vs when I should be receiving a call. I start saying "I understand that...followed by several "hello's" since it sounded as if she could not hear me since she was blatantly talking over me to get her point across. She then raises her voice and states "you don't need to be rude.." I responded back "I am not being rude, you are being rude and I want to speak with the office manager." She says "ok, no problem", places me on hold for some time. I finally get to speak to the Office Director, Michelle. She goes on to explain my results, never even apologizes for Melissa's behavior. She just mentions "I will go over with the employee" but in a patronizing tone. She also explained, they do not publicize their employee's disciplinary actions which I was not asking for in anyway as that would be quite demeaning even though the employee deserved no such defense from my behalf. I then asked her for Melissa's title, her title and her superior as well. She provided it to me. I also asked for the process to release my medical records, as I will be leaving this practice due to Melissa's unprofessional demeanor as well as Michelle's lack of leadership and assertiveness in the given scenario. I will be following up with the appropriate superiors as well at Pascack Valley. I am merely a grain of rice in the ocean but I have worked in medical for 19 years now, am an Operations Manager overseeing 97+ employees so I take patient care, accountability and Customer Service to heart. People like Michelle should not be speaking to patients or working in medical at all!!

I had a very positive visit with Dr. Daniella Montemurro. She was a great listener, trustworthy and very empathetic. I finally left her office knowing that my concerns were heard and valid. I was starting to feel helpless and hopeless as I was dismissed by previous doctors. I am happy that I was recommended to her.

Dr. Daniella Montemurro is an excellent doctor. She’s compassionate, caring, and listens to all your concerns and needs. It’s actually funny to read the bad reviews because you can tell what kind of people those are…(karens). She’s a beautiful woman who has STYLE (to the woman who was so bothered and says she looked like she was going to a party)… and so what if she was!? Doctors are HUMANS too. Patients tend to forget that. If it wasn’t for Dr. Montemurro I would’ve never gotten genetic counseling (or I would’ve done it when it was too late) and I would’ve never known I was a carrier for the BRCA 1 mutation. She has guided me every step of the way, educated me, always answers my questions, and is always there for my concerns. I’m SO grateful for her.

* Posting again because my review apparently is being hidden. Not surprising. If you are looking for a new gynecologist - do yourself a favor and stay far away from this practice. They are absolutely awful. The receptionist apparently decides whether or not you can speak to the doctor. She wouldn’t have the doctor call me back - despite the fact I was bleeding heavily and disabled. She said the dr. would only speak to me if I physically came in for a visit, which I couldn’t do. What happened to tele health appointments? I would have gladly paid for a visit and told them so! Horrendous staff and apparently no compassion from any of them. This doctor isn’t thorough at all, rushes you out the door, and I’d never trust her with my care. She could barely remove a routine polyp without struggling. I’ve had neurosurgeons call me back, but apparently this obgyn thinks she’s too important for a phone call. So glad I found this out before I continued with this office any longer. Unprofessional joke of a place. Go elsewhere.

I was a new patient visiting Dr. M for the first time. I was referred over from my previous doctor who I loved. From the very first second I met her, she was extremely unfriendly. I could hear her loud and clearly talking about my chart outside of the door very loudly instead of coming in the room to ask me the questions she was asking the nurses who seemed to be confused about. I was asking to go on birth control since I had my wedding in a few months and she was resisting putting me on it, making assumptions that I will “have a stroke” if I go back on it. I am young, healthy and have been on birth control previously. I left her office in tears and frustrated and she had no remorse for me, did not seem to care about her patients needs + wants. She made zero effort to get to know me and was aggressive and cold from the moment she stepped into the room with me. I will never be returning back to see her and wouldn’t recommend her to any of my family and friends.

Did not have a good experience so I will not be returning.

Daddy’s obgyn practice has certainly gone to her head. Good luck getting a phone call back, and be prepared to speak to her for your initial visit, while you are sitting in a paper gown - rather than in her office like a civilized human being. She’s the absolute WORST. Never again!

Daddy's obgyn practice has apparently gone to her head. I'd give this doctor 0 stars if I could. She's useless and the entire office is a disgrace. For starters, I have never gone to meet with an OBGYN who has you undress and THEN comes into the room to speak with you for a first visit. Most doctors will meet with you while you are dressed, in their office, and then have you undress for an exam. She came in the room and barely let me get a few sentences out before telling me to lay back and inserted the speculum. Weird. I didn't even get to say everything I wanted to - because as fast as she breezed in - she breezed out. She was with me no longer than ten minutes, if that. No urine test - no blood test. Not a thorough first exam at all. I had to have a polyp removed, and all doctors I've been to in the past, get it off in one try. She ripped it off in FOUR pieces, which I read on the report from the lab. I was really upset by this. If she couldn't get it off in one piece - she should have left it alone! I recently had a problem with extremely heavy bleeding. I called her office and asked if she could call me back at some point today. The office REFUSED, and said if I wanted to talk to her, I had to physically come into the office. I'm disabled and couldn't get there. I kept repeatedly asking for the doctor to call at some point today, and the woman I spoke to said "the receptionist said NO". I really lost my cool after that! These people are a bunch of uncaring j*rks and after begging them for 20 mins I certainly let them know! I'd NEVER return here. Why can't I speak to the doctor?! She can charge me for an appointment if she liked. I can't imagine how anyone could like this practice or deal with this doctor for a serious matter. Stay far away. My vet treats my dog better and gets on the phone! There are far more compassionate places that don't cause you more grief when you are already stressed out and worried. Lesson learned.

If you are looking for a doctor that half listens to you, while rushing out the door, then this is the place for you. She is unprofessional and the least thorough doctor I’ve ever been to in my life. Oh, and she won’t take a phone call or call you back! Apparently, she will only talk to you if you make an appointment. I guess she is only interested in billing you for a visit and not about your health. Instead the “medical assistant” was asking the receptionist what I should do, instead of me speaking to the doctor! Can you imagine? Because I certainly couldn’t! I’ve received way better care at other doctors and wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy. I really needed some advice this morning about severe bleeding and her staff refused to give her a message to call me. That is horrific. Don’t go into the medical field if you can’t even give the bare minimum to your patients. I had a minor in office procedure done, and she struggled through the whole thing. That was my first red flag. Never again!
