The fun part about this place is: if you have to cancel last minute they charge you 100 dollar fee, BUT if they cancel last minute (which has happened multiple times) all you get is the inconvenience. Less of a helpful service and more of a money grab type company.
I've been through many mental health providers, this wasn't the worse but not the best by a long shot. Everyone was pleasant and professional for the most part. I felt like as soon as Dr. Happiness heard my family history she diagnosed me based off that alone. Although I disagreed with the diagnosis, I took the medical recommendation and started the meds prescribed. She only gave me meds for 30 days w/ no refills until I went back to see her. This is pretty standard when starting new meds, the thing that truly bothered me and made me feel like they don't care about the patients mental state was when I couldn't make it to an appt. before my meds ran out they refused to provide me a refill even though that caused me to go off them cold turkey. Thankfully my symptoms didn't worsen, but I'd hate to think what could happen to someone who is near crisis and is forced to get off their meds, cold turkey.
Do not use. I was on hold for 20 minutes knowing that I was running late to an appointment, and I wanted to see what my options were. No one ever said I could have taken it from my phone. My mom was on the call, just not me. The therapist didn’t even give my mom a chance to contact me to get me on the call. She hung up on my mom and I’m left with a 50 dollar charge. The receptionist was from a call center, so they couldn’t even contact the provider directly. If I knew I’d be hit with the missed appointment, I would have cancelled or rescheduled while I was on the call with her. Find yourself a local group or therapist.
Hello they are amazing here at South Jersey behavioral magnolia New Jersey they are amazing helps me in every aspect of my life
Horrendous customer service. I'm not sure I've ever left a google review in my life but it's a joke that their phone staff is involved in mental health care.
I highly recommend staying away from Harmony Bay. They canceled my appointment one week. and then the therapist did not show to my most recent one. When I called to connect, you’re connected with a national call center. The entire process feels very corporate and not focused on patient care. There are better, local practitioners.
I would strongly advise against using Harmony Bay Wellness for care via telehealth. I'd been with HBW since 5/2022. Everything seemed fine until they cancelled my 3/12/24 appointment because the APN I was seeing was no longer available (but seems to be still working for HBW), so I scheduled another appointment for 3/20/24. Then, they informed me that I could not see that NP, so the next appointment that was available for me was on 4/22/24. I saw that APN twice, but, again, my next appointment was cancelled. At this point, I'd have had to make appointments with 4 different practitioners in the course of 3 months, and when I tried to do so, quite frankly, it was much more difficult than it should have been. This situation red flag #1. I tried to look through the practitioners on their patient portal where most of the names aren't even capitalized, which just seems unprofessional to me.... Red flag #2. Wednesday and today (Friday), I was billed for 5/16 and 4/22, respectively. I don't understand why it took so long (2 months) to process my copay when I have automatic payment.... Red flag #3. Finally, this caused me to look at my statement history, where I realized there was almost a full year gap of missing statement in my account.... red flag #4. Needless to say, I found a new office and practitioner, who was somewhat confused by the combination of meds I was prescribed.... red flag #5.
Horrible customer service. They have tried to re activate an old discharged account with them 4 times. Basically trying to charge me without any reason.. everyone that has been discharged by this place should check your statements and see if they have been stealing from you...
Like a few others reviews have said, it was made very clear that this place is ALL or NOTHING. My boyfriend found a therapist here, and once he felt comfortable opening up and making progress( about 3 sessions in), he was referred to a PSYCHIATRIST. After getting the psychiatrist referal, all his therapy sessions were immediately canceled, and my boyfriend was refused service unless he undergoes a program that would require him to be available 5-6 days a week for 6 hours each session. That is absolutely ridiculous and impossible for anyone who is also working full-time. We can't afford that and he doesn't have the time. Unfortunately they did not give him the choice of just his therapy sessions, they refused to see him and canceled all future sessions unless he undergoes this intensive program. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. Find a place that actually cares about your well-being and will not drop you without notice. Adding: There is no point in calling you. Your team made it very clear that you do not care about your patients. You told him he can't see his therapist (quite rudely too, I might add),and hung up on him.
My impression is overwhelmingly that Harmony Bay exists to make money as efficiently as possible, and that patient care is secondary to this. Many people, like me, will no doubt end up here because of the difficulty finding therapists who work with insurance. This lack of providers leaves an opportunity for a big company like Harmony Bay to make money. First of all, they are unhelpful when it comes to determining what my costs would be with insurance. Basically they won't discuss it, just tell you to call your insurers. They want you to sign the forms that say you will pay if your insurers don't cover it, but they won't tell you what you are responsible for if that happens. Even after starting appointments, they were unable to tell me what my copays would look like. The first "appointment" is an intake appointment. This is after completing many pages of intake forms. My intake appointment was with a very young and seemingly inexperienced member of staff. Many of the questions they asked had already been answered in writing on my forms. A lot of quite odd questions also (mind you I have done therapy for many years, many different therapists, and I still found some of these questions intrusive at the intake stage). Asking me about the first time I got drunk? That was over 40 years ago and I just finished telling you that I have 1 or 2 alcoholic drinks a week, and have never had a substance abuse problem.... but you want me to talk about my first experience with alcohol at an intake session??? After calling the office to follow up on the costs again, I was told they would bill my insurance $1100 for this intake session. I don't even know if the intake person I was talking to was a licensed therapist, because they don't think it's important to tell you that. But apparently it's worth $1100 for a half hour. I was hoping that at the end of this painful session, the staff member would at least be able to recommend a therapist who was a good fit, but, no, sadly, not the case. No in-person sessions available at all, everything has to be via Zoom. They suggested someone and gave me a link to their profile, not a good match. They admitted they were not familiar with many of the therapists personally, so I just ended up picking the first one who sounded remotely like they might be a good fit. Stab in the dark, thanks Harmony Bay! First session, the therapist couldn't get the telehealth link to work, so I had to just take it as a phone call. The therapist again covered a lot of ground that was already provided in writing and/or at the intake session. I did a second session, just to give my therapist a chance to establish some kind of rapport, but I came away from the session feeling bad about myself. They didn't seem to have good notes from our first session and I felt I was being asked to repeat myself. There was no clear plan for therapy or how we were going to work together. I admit, I was closing down by the end of the 2nd session, just feeling that I had been taken advantage of by this company. It's a shame that vulnerable people seeking help have to navigate this kind of treatment. There ARE better options out there, keep looking, you deserve better. PS The majority of the positive reviews here sound fake, most people don't talk about their own conditions or treatment using the kind of language used here. Also most of the positive reviewers don't have any other reviews published on Google. Something rotten is going on there! PS to the "owner" who responded - you have my full name here, and you have my contact details in your database. So don't pretend you couldn't reach out to me already if you really cared about my experience. Your boilerplate "response" fools no one.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
