Atrocious experience overall. While there are some amazing and kind and competent therapists and aides, many are callous and incompetent. Multiple times my father has called for help with bathroom needs and had to wait more than 30 minutes for any response. Of course this results in accidents. He is unable to move due to severe injury and is 100% dependent on them for help. They have also not been giving pain medication on schedule so he is in unnecessary pain, on top of the already debilitating pain of his condition.
Please i want to know if i can register for these courses at your institute 1. Supervision of support staff. 2. Outcome Assessment. 3. Discharge or Discontinuation. These courses are needed for my evaluation at FCCPT. please your reply is needed. Email; amaka.korieocha@gmail.com.Thanks
When I toured this facility for my elderly dad, I experienced the kindness and compassion w/the staff. Admissions was extremely helpful and had gone out of their way to assist . Great facility
One of the best rehab in New Jersey , staffs are very welcoming and helpful, the rehab is excellent, Great team work at this facility.
Truly I feel very lucky to have been able to get into Kessler of Chester after my accident. When I left the hospital I really was unsure how long the recovery would take, but the team at Kessler had me hit the ground running on day 1. They were able to have me walking stairs when a few days before I could barely walk. The PT & OT Therapist truly take the time to get to know you and work on your goals. They helped me realize I could do so much more. The nursing staff is constantly checking in to ensure you are ok as a person beyond you as a patient. The aids where also there when you reached out for assistance. The supporting staff truly was great, the care manager was in constant communication with me & my wife.Last, the food prepared was excellent and truly helped fuel my recovery.Overall, this was a great experience considering the circumstances.
The therapists were excellent at this facility and dealt with my dad in a caring and professional way, also updating us about his progress. Our issue was that my dad had had a stroke during surgery and struggled with attention and memory for much of his time here, and we got him a new i phone that was “lost” the day after he got it and never found. Considering he did not leave the facility and no one could come visit him, we think someone took it. We were never reimbursed and someone even said it was his fault. If you are a facility managing patients with severe cardiac and neurological issues, there should be a way to help patients keep belongings safe. There also was not a way for us to communicate with him, as he needed help using the room phone after his phone was lost, and we would have to call many times and sometimes not even the same day to try and get someone to help him communicate with us. No one called us when he was transferred from the icu until days later. I feel the communication plan to help patients communicate with families during COVID could be much improved. The therapy staff was fantastic.
this place 1 star me and my child went here and she wanted food and she was chokeing.
Kessler was an amazing experience for me... truly life changing. I had brain surgery for Glioblastoma at Overlook hospital. Just four days later I was transferred to Kessler to learn everything again. The staff was so loving from the doctors to the aids.I slept there for 12 nights. Each day I got stronger thanks to the dedicated therapists.I would never be where I am physically or mentally had it not been for my stay at Kessler!Thank you to all who cared for me..I’m forever grateful.
Rude rude rude rude.
The physical therapists and occupational therapists were all beyond amazing. They went above and beyond for my grandmother every step of the way.Everyone was also very, very nice. However, they went from a five star facility to way less when it came to the discharge process. The doctor told my family to show up at 1p. The discharge did not occur until 4p, after we had to ask numerous times when it was going to happen. We were waiting for blood work to be discharged, and the nurse basically in so many words told us that the doctor should never have told us that because 1p was very off. We were already off to a bad start. At 3p the blood work results started to trickle in and it wasn't until 345p when we asked AGAIN if we could go that they were looking for the doctor. When we were finally given the all clear to go, I asked the nurse at least two times if everything for home care was set up. And she assured me that physical therapy and phlebotomy were all set up. We thought we were good to go.Fast forward to Monday, the first weekend since discharge and the home care facility calls and tells us they never got a script for blood work and that no one could come today. Mind you, bloodwork IS VITAL TO HER CARE. When we called Kessler, we were told the nurse was supposed to give us a script and never did. AFTER I ASKED numerous times if everything was set up.After a whole day of phone calls, my grandmother had to be driven to a facility to draw blood in the middle of the day, during a heat wave, to get her blood drawn.Almost everything we were told about discharge from Kessler was a lie! Phlebotomy is not even included in homecare, even after I asked if it was and I was told yes! Thanks a lot for making the first week home way harder than it had to be!Kessler is a great facility, until discharge. We were beyond thrilled with all the care and are so upset that this is what has come of all our happiness
Beds weren't made often enough as they should. Urinals were not checked often if full, therefore I had to request two. When you press the call button nobody comes right away. It usually takes 15 to 20 minutes for somebody to show up. I was in my wheelchair once waiting for them to transfer me and it took them 20 minutes to come and that's only because I looked them up on Google and called the office to tell them I'm passing out. They ran to my room and checked my blood pressure. It was 77 over 42. If it wasn't for my quick thinking I probably would have died. When you order lunch they bring you the wrong item, for example, I'm diabetic and they bring me regular soda instead of diet. When I ask for two milks because I drink my coffee very light they bring me only one and with no sweetener. I once was at the therapy gym and at one point people thought I lost my balance and an African American woman came and instead of putting her arms around me she ended up pushing me and at that point I was the one who needed to catch my balance. Some physical therapists are very hard on you when you can only do certain things and apply certain strength. They don't care if you feel weak or tired.
They took such great care of my dad! The therapists were kind and helpful to help him get better and home.
Just wanted to say a big Thank-You Very Much! to everyone for the excellent care and rehabilitation I received. Wonderful nurses and doctors, and assistants. Everyone was very kind kind and helpful. Even the food was great! :-) I highly recommend this facility. Again Thank-You So Much! Best Wishes to all!
The shining star is a Black male nurse named Chris. He was wonderful in every sense of the word. Wish I could give him 6 stars!
outstanding facility with caring people. My mom has sadly been a frequent visitor there. They are top notch - just would like to see the kitchen and menu updated / improved. It could use some help.

I am writing with regard to my stay at the Kessler Rehab Center in Chester, New Jersey.I was there for most of the month of May of 2019 and they brought be back from being bed ridden to walking within the first three days.A excellent rehab staff, Ashley and Ann Marie were my main contacts and are pros and alot of fun to be with and get better with. Also worked with many of the other therapists who were warm and very professional at all times. The nursing staff and the orderlies were more then efficient and helpful to me, but became in some cases good friends during my stay as well.My case manager Mary was very very helpful while at my stay and after my recovery at home, with nurses and physical and occup. therapists. If you need rehab at any time or someone you know, this is the place to go. My recovery was fast and memorable. Thanks to you all for your warmth and assistances in my time of need.Mr. John C.
I would like to Thank Kessler for their help in my rehabilitation. Excellent people work there and are very motivated for you to achieve your goals.
