List of Karen Harkaway's Reviews
I have been going to Dr Harkaway for over five years. First when she has her own practice and with schweiger she is extremely skilled and knowledgeable I trust her completely. However Since becoming part of scweiger the scheduling staff is HORRIBLE and it is nearly impossible to get an appointment with her. It is extremely frustrating. When she had her own practice her whole staff Was outstanding
I have been going to Dr. Harkaway for over 15 years. I’ve seen other clinicians in her office as well. They are all professional, knowledgeable, and kind.
I've been a patient for years prior to transferring under Schweiger group and the cost for laser hair removal has doubled but the service, experience and costumer service has not changed. I booked an appointment for a Brazilian laser hair removal and there wasn't much Brazilian laser hair removal performed. Very disappointed. I even emailed and never heard back. Started going somewhere else and am much happier.
2 years ago i had the worst injector experience of my life by Dr. Harkaway that has left scars on my face to this day. When i booked the appointment for under eye filler. I requested half a vile of Restatlyn. When I arrived the day of, Dr. Harkaway proceeded to very roughly use a cannula-needle under my eyes before asking/ telling me what she was going to do. She did not have the time of day to explain anything to me including the fact that she was not going to use the Restalyn I requested. When she went to inject under my right eye, the needle was too dull. She poked and jabbed my skin 4 times trying to force it through before changing the needle, which left scarring at the injection site. After all was said and done, I was charged for and told that they had used a full vile of Volbella filler. My under eyes had long visible lumps underneath where the filler was sitting. I was told it was just swollen and to keep massaging it. 2 weeks later it looked just as bad if not worse. I went back to have it dissolved and Dr Harkaway said she would only dissolve "some of it" and injected a little bit of the dissolvent, which ended up doing nothing. I had to go to another doctor in cherry hill and pay another $200 to have it fully dissolved. It left scarring on the skin under my eyes that has left dented lines in my face permanently. Over a year before my experience with Dr. Harkaway i had gotten proper under eye injections done by another doctor, but came to her solely because of the cheaper price. Now I know why it was cheaper. After all was said and done I tried to reach out for a refund or go on the website to leave a review but there was no email address listed to contact and no place to leave a review. I tried to call but my calls were never returned about the issue and she basically went into hiding from the whole situation. She is a scam artist and a terrible doctor. This is not the first time something like this has happened and after more research I found out she's almost lost her medical license on numerous occasions and has switched practices to stay under the radar.
Incompetent, no compassion, rushed me out of the office and doesn’t listen to what i have to say about my medical issue in the initial consultation! I’ve never experienced such ineptitude. Went in with a very small and shallow epidermoid cyst on my forehead wanting to have it removed as it had been growing for months. My father died of skin cancer 25 years ago, so with a family history of cancer i wanted to get it checked out and biopsied, which any Dermatologist could easily done in office. After looking at my forehead and saying that it was shallow, the PA Carly said to me that it would be easy removal and that she just had to get preapproval from my insurance. She said she would call back to reschedule the removal procedure. I got a call back two days later stating that the doctor Harkaway did not want to take my case and wanted to recommend that I go to a plastic surgeon. Why? Greedy! I have Medicaid and she can’t get the $$$$$ she wants. She cares more about $$$ than patients.
I use to use the office in Delran years ago. I did laser hair removal on my face. As a young black woman i needed it to stop the ingrown from causing pimples, darkening my skin, and to stop the hairs growing on my face. I did over 6 treatments and did not see any results. After expressing my concern I was advised to continue doing more treatments. I continued with 1-2 more treatments and still saw no results. This facility clearly does not cater to darker skin and was more worried about draining my pockets. After going to another facility that used a laser which was for dark skin I saw results after my first treatment with them. The people at K. Harkaway should have known that their laser was not working on me and should have stopped the treatments. My advice, if you are black go elsewhere!
Dr. Harkaway and her staff have always been wonderful, I have been with them at least 20 years , they recently changed to Schweitzer Dermatology, same service, same caring Doc's . I highly recommend this impressive group.
They used to be great, so not sure what's going on recently... They missed me telling them I had a concern with a mole (reported to assistant and while booking the appointment).Doctor looked at it herself-said I looked fine then seemed surprised when I reiterated that I was specifically there for that mole. I get it...oversights happen but it was the reason of my appointment. It ended up being pre-cancerous. Removal procedure was rough as well...just definitely very cold like I was being processed- lay on the table, arms at your side, spit your gum out and try not to budge while the new assistant does your stitches. The doctor is definitely not very warm. Never got a call back about my biopsy (cost me plenty though). I never got a call back about another procedure I had inquired on either.
After going there for 15 years I will not return.I was late to my appointment by 16 minutes so they cancelled my appointment .Almost every time I go I need to wait for them for at least 15 minutes.I guess they only value their time!
Disgusted that you could turn a patient away in tears without the medical attention they were desperately seeking. After waiting 8 weeks for an appointment, it was too much for the staff to wait 3 minutes so I could call to get confirmation of the referral that was sent weeks before the appointment date. The staff needs lessons in professionalism and empathy. Horrendous experience.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
