Akwasi Boateng's Online Review Report Card

Dr Boating fixed me when all others doctors couldn't. He took his time, listened to me, did the tests he needed and prescribed a needed regimen to affect improving my condition. I highly recommend him.

I met him first on recommendation of my urologist Dr. Richards, and found a trust in him. After multiple attempts to resolve my bladder, non cancer, issues by both dr. Richard and Dr. Boateng, to have my bladder removed. On Nov 2nd at RWJ hospital Dr. B. Performed the removal of my bladder with and Ileal conduit. His bedside manner is excellent, showing his follow up as I was in RWJ for 6 days. even the 2 follo up visit at the office he showed his caring for patients. I am great full for Dr. b is possibly saving my life.

We met doctor Boeteng at St. Peter’s hospital, seemed nice , we schedule an appointment with him at East Brunswick office; we got abused by his staff In the office; made us wait 4 whole hours … a horrible experience, finally decided to change doctor…

Dr. Akwasi is a great surgeon. He successfully performed the surgery on a family member and took good care prior and post surgery. I would highly recommend his service.

So far so good I have more follow-up coming up.

Dr. Boateng spent the time to carefully explain my condition to me - the last urologist had simply sent me medication over the phone without any explanation. Dr. Boateng made me feel taken care of, ordered medication to prevent future issues, and some tests to make sure there isn't another underlying problem. I would recommend him for sure.

Dr. Akwasi did a great job very thorough, knowledgeable, answers all your questions & very informative to how the process & procedure will go pros & cons. Very straightforward no games

Doctor was professional and knowledgeable on my first visit. Upon arriving for my follow up, the staff all had their masks down behind glass(I wouldn’t care but us patients are mandated to wear our masks). The one woman had her back to me and the other woman called her to tell her I was behind her. She has turned around and lifted one finger up over her shoulder and said, “ give me one minute” so she could continue her conversation about her personal life to the girls. She then called me up as soon as I sat on the chair and told me there was an issue that they did not take my insurance anymore. Then I asked when that happened because I wanted to know if I was going to be charged for my first visit now. She told me recently. She asked me what I wanted to do and I said I will cancel. Then she said that they take my secondary and would I like to just reschedule my appointment for a later date. I said rescheduling to a later date would accomplish nothing because they still did not take my primary and I explained this to her and she didn’t understand until I got into detail and explained that I would be charged the balance after my insurance payment. I told her that I wish somebody would have called me and let me know this information before I drove a half an hour to the office and she said, “ oh, well it’s been crazy” and that was it and I left. The other patients that were in the office and heard this going on all shook their heads and said how terrible it was as I was leaving. Terrible patient relations. I would have given one star if the doctor hadn’t been so good the first time. Also, I’ve been called I probably would’ve still came to my appointment as an out of network patient. Shame how doctors lose patients constantly because of their staff.

He is a good doctor but I gave 2 Stars because of his Staff. You can never speak to someone and get your issues resolved, you have to leave a voicemail and pray that some one will return your call “soon”. So much for having “My Chart” the staff looks at your message and does not reply. My pharmacy has been calling and leaving voicemails but they have not responded and the result is I don’t have my medication to take as scheduled — really considering looking for a new doctor. Terrible Back office and Management overall

Dr. Boateng came to my rescue at St Peters ER on Wednesday after several others were unable to insert a catheter when they confronted a scar tissue in the way. Dr. Boateng used a procedure that the others were probably not certified to use and he solved a very painful situation quickly and professionally. His approach was direct and masterful and his demeanor was calming while in a very tense situation. Thank you Dr. B for all that you did.
