There is a difference between a bad psychiatrist vs straight up malpractice. This person just commits malpractice. She diagnoses kids with bipolar when she doesnt understand what bipolar is and then puts them on seizure drugs. Scary that she has a license.

Mariam Bekhit "evaluated" my brother when he was brought into the Psych ER by police following a family conflict -- our father has always been extremely violent and aggressive with his children, and my brother lost his temper and got into a confrontation. Mariam Bekhit is extremely condescending, doesn't spend time actually listening to the patient, and doesn't bother to listen to family members who are eager to provide corroborating information in support of the patient. She diagnosed my brother -- who has an extensive and well-documented history of PTSD -- with bipolar disorder and "disorganized schizophrenia", despite him never having experienced symptoms consistent with mania or psychosis. Apparently expressing anger and displeasure is psychosis and mania in her book, after a 5-10 min "evaluation". She doesn't seem to "get it" that bringing someone against their will to a Psych ER and placing them into an environment that looks like a prison, with cinderblock walls, cell-like rooms, and literally nothing to do besides watch television isn't a healthy environment and isn't likely to make a person too happy. A patient disagreeing with her is just "delusional", "paranoid", and showing "poor insight and judgment". My brother described how she was being rude, extremely judgmental, and dismissive towards other patients. I wouldn't recommend her to my enemy. Stay away!

This Doctor has helped me successfully, and taught me not to bite. Now my life has improved significantly with my parents, I am more nicer and respectful to my parents.

Poor social skills and very entitled and need to improve on bedside manners. Very opinionated and inflexible with her idea, not a good team player with her patient's families. Never returns phone calls to family members.
